Had a lot of fun. The final 4 of us had an awesome adventure. I'm sure there will be pics and vids of that later. The tree looks great.

    A Griswold Family Xmas indeed!

Thanks again for setting this up ffdawson. Seeing how it coincided with the boy's first Xmas, I think we have a good tradition forming. Count us in for next year!

We had a great time. It was Marika's first time wheeling so she was on edge as we were going through Pillsbury but I think she's hooked. Sorry we had to dip early, we were getting tired and hungry but I can't wait to see the rest of the pics.

What an awesome trip... Where do I begin!

Thanks to all you guys who helped me get out of the sticky nasty mud hill climb. That stuff was crazy! But great to use some serious recovery gear and brainstorming to get me out. Those max tracs were at least 80lbs caked with mud!

Big props to Anthony for putting it all together. Great meeting some new people and seeing familiar faces. Definitely making this an annual tradition but by next year no more all terrains! Haha!

Thanks again all. Looking forward to the documentary Chris could put together on the recovery. Probably stuck for a solid hour! Good times everyone.

Sorry guys, I was running late. I did post on the forum and replied to Chris's text message that I was running late and to not wait for me. Thanks Chris for giving me the CB channel and ham channel you guys were on.

Unfortunately I didn't find you guys but I did talk to a lady in a little country store over by Pillsbury lake and she told me where to go for some nice Christmas trees.

Here is the tree we grabbed. Dang thing didn't look as tall when I was out there chopping it down. :)

Nice! Looks great all dressed up!

Bummed we missed ya man tree looks phenomenal! Where exactly did you go to find that one? It looks like a Noble fir, or maybe even a silver tip? I'm thinking for next year's run we start out at Pillsbury and head to wherever you found that beauty!

I can't wait till Tuesday when I get off duty, so I can knock my tree down to size and put her up!

We went up to Hull Mountain to the peak and up there these trees were everywhere. It was quite amazing to be honest. My wife took a picture at the peak it was an amazing shot looking out over the cloud cover. I will get it from her phone and post it on here to show you guys.

Where did you guys end up going?

Check out the video that was the view

Oh yeah!! The view from the top of Hull is awesome! We were on our way up there, taking the trail up, as opposed to the graded dirt road, when Jason got stuck. I don't know if you took the main road up, but there's a fun, flexy trail that begins in the Sunset campground by the lake, and runs more than halfway up the mountain. Usually it's easy going, but with the slick sticky mud it was a bit of a challenge for Jason's all terrains...

Nice, then we were close. My little guy and my daughter were in the truck after we cut the tree down and my oldest was helping me load it in the back. They told me that they heard someone on the CB or Ham ask if anyone saw a red truck with a softtopper and they thought that it was you guys. I don't think that they even think that there is any other red trucks with a softtopper. Just their dads truck LMAO. :D

It was an adventure coming out of there in the dark. Had to turn on the pods for the added light and we still didn't come out of there the way we thought we were going to. Just happy it let us out on to a road and not back in the forest further.

Hull mountain is were I've gone in the past. Nice trees up there and a bit longer drive (in a good way). Some years the snow is too deep to get all the way tho. Always a good time!

I've been hearing how ATs don't shed mud as well as MTs. I have brand new BFG KM2s and am hoping they will be fine on what little mud I come across since I'm 80% highway. Maybe I should pick up some Maxtrax.
