I'd be up for a part specific fab day. I have the same runners as you Hoyal, but I've been thinking about fabbing up some steel sliders, especially due to all the rocks in these here rockies lol. What kind of fab equipment do you have? And have you thought of whether you would like to use square or round tubing? lol after seeing your driving style you need them asap Ricky Bobby.

I'll call some steel yards and see what's cheaper and relative prices. at the same time I'll also look into some plating for skid plates... how thick do sliders need to be?

Is that round tubing? or 1.75 squared?

In early august or late july I'm planning a trip on that four wheeling trail that goes from Durango all the way up to I-70. It'll be a three-four day trip if anybody might be interested. Before this I want to put sliders and a few strategic skid plates.

I figure a fab day with multiple heads brainstorming could yield some good results =)

For sure Im in for a wheeling trip, I have one this weekend and next weekend.

Yeah I would like to see some kick outs fabed into them as well. And who better to put things to the test than I ;) If it holds up on a trail run with me Im sure they will do just fine.

I like the style of the round ones, also seems like they wouldn't get hung up as easy as the square ones?

1.75" round or square. IMO the best combo would be 1.75" square tube for the frame legs, and inner tube. then the outside tube would be 1.75" round. that way you could add a kick out.

it aso cuts down on the amount of notches you have to cut in order to join round tubes to round tubes.

as for skid plates, 3/16" plate is a good thickness. for the front skid plate you can use all factory mounting locations, no need to drill any new holes.
