So I just got off the phone with the Boulder forest service and most of the trails listed are out of the question. Middle St. Vrain will be closed until mid June. The forest service is the first to run it with a local 4x4 club at that time and they determine if it is safe. I guess it is built on bog which causes trucks to sink really deep if not dried out enough. Snow drifts and mud are the biggest problems this time of year.

She said our only two options are Left Hand and Bunts School Road (both being open all year round). Which of the two have people ran before and are comfortable leading?

yeah left hand is a really easy drive. I've seen people go up there with civics and crap like that... I wouldn't bother making that the trail for the day.

Then what do you suggest? Keep in mind that some have not really been to the trails much and others (like me) have been but are just inexperienced and hate spending money to fix broken parts when there are so many mods they are saving up for.

It's pretty mild. We'll have to see what trail gates are open. It looks like we are 2 weeks ahead of the harder trails opening.

There are plenty of decent trails near my home, but probably too much of a drive for most...

Let us know whatever you guys decide... I will plan accordingly.

    ~Troy

PS - depending on my schedule, I may try to make the mod day as well... If so, what are everyone's plans for the night? I would be interested in camping somewhere between the mod location and the trail ride...
