Press gas and for a second truck revs then jumps into gear. It does not happen all the time and only from a complete stop. Does not slip gears any other time. I’m reading that transmission fluid can be low. Truck has 120k told this to a mechanic and he said almost always it means the transmission needs to be rebuilt. Never had any problem with truck til now

Dont go back to that mechanic.

Check the fluid level for yourself and fill it up properly (or better yet do a proper full fluid change) before driving any further.

Sounds like low fluid, do a level check, if that comes out ok change out the fluid. A rebuild is an extreme answer before more investigation is done.

I changed out transmission fluid and did the AT temp mode process. The process states the light will illuminate for a second and go away then wait 15 min to go about the overflow. However, instead of illuminating and going away it remained solid. Does this mean it’s at temp? It is 92 outside.

Check fluid. May or may not fix problem. 99% sure you will need a rebuild soon

How confident are you the fluid level is correct?

Don't expect any miracle answers from a mechanic over the phone, he doesn't have the vehicle in front of him. When people call and ask me questions like that I dont say shit until they bring the car in and pay me to double check their work

Edit: just found your other thread

You can always just change the existing thread title instead of starting a new one
