The synchro on my 1st gear seems weak, at best, to me. When shifting from any gear to 1st, with speed above about 3mph, I can feel / hear the transmission hit 2-3 teeth before it slips into 1st, on 40-50% of my downshifts. I've scooted my seat up a notch to ensure that I am fully depressing the clutch but it didn't help.
Has anyone else experienced this? I've reported it twice to my dealer during service and they say it operates as designed.

And before you go there, I'm over 55, learned to drive on a '74 Chevy 1/2 ton with a '3 on the tree' straight 6 and have owned more manual transmission vehicles than autos (including the deuce and half in my avatar), so I'm more than familiar with driving a stick.

That truck looks really familiar....are you actually in Ft Worth, or are you maybe north east of Ft Worth?

I don't have anything to add about your synchro.

It has been posted that it is difficult to get into 1st gear while at a stop. I experienced this a bit on the Taco and a lot more on previous cars. Redline MT-90 greatly improved that and might help with this issue?

Both 1st and 2nd gears have triple syncros, so you have to get through a lot of rings before you get to the actual gear.

Mine does the same. Once the fluid is fully heated, it is much better.

I used to keep the deuce down on NAS Ft Worth JRB, so it spent a lot of time driving around that area.

@cstephan @tonered @Arries289 Thanks. I just passed the 35K service and I had read others comment on the Redline MT-90 so I may give that a try. I'm adjusting my driving style to make up for it but slightly disappointed in it.

I am running MT-90 and I have 60K on the truck. 2017 TRD-OR. I vaguely remember when it was new that i couldn't get it into first while it was moving.

One other thing. If you are having a bit strangeness on the clutch engagement itself, not selecting gear, we have a completely stupid accumulator just in front of the slave cylinder.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/mt-accumulator-delete-mod-adm-and-bs-thread.568303/

Killing that PoS is highly recommended.
