Thank yew. Got it a few weeks ago. I don't keep it on though, just bought it for whenever I go camping.

 

It's project season for my Taco...

As of Thanksgiving, it was still a flatbed.





Then I went back to a traditional bed.



Cut it apart


Glued some metal together


Finished the bumper, and had to build a whole new wiring harness for the rear lights... I had some wire corrosion issues, so I just cut away all the bad wires and replaced them with new, all connected via 6-port weatherpack connectors.


Bought a topper for $40, and built a rack.




New wheels and snorkel.


About to begin building a bedslide w/ drawer. Drawers will be full extension, bedslide will be 3/4 extension. At some point I'll be building a matching roof rack for the cab, same width and height. Also on the to-do list is figure out why 4 of my LED pods stopped working, and once I fix them, they'll get mounted to the top rack on the sides, wired up as perimeter lights. Which will be independently controlled from the cab as left/right/rear, and will be switchable from inside the bed via a single switch.

The truck used to be gold. Now it's got a chassis/engine/mechanicals from 2001, cab from 00, bed from 99, topper from 98, doors from 96...

Question on your flares...noticed they are different on the bed, obviously from the bed change but I'm digging the smaller profile. Would you have info on where to obtain these or is that just what came in some of the 99's? I had some on my old 99' pre-runner but they where the ones with the chrome strip
