I’ll update my truck here, it’s gone through a bit of transformation since my last photo.58149B87-BB1B-436B-BDEF-2E814BB43312.jpg 7203B721-CA51-4933-AD52-2C87BBBBF4A1.jpg 8C74E84B-701F-4286-A9FE-ED522BC15C5E.jpg 53FEBE17-E443-4939-916E-544D2FD69DCA.jpg03BD5B43-E9BA-4DFA-B9B7-5009D3833FF2.jpg1AE1DC7F-032C-409A-BAC2-C47F6C854554.jpg2434B713-E26E-46BD-A00D-5F3A721A5B35.jpg717ABB39-03C3-4ED6-9206-AD62BEC29703.jpg6C31C74C-756E-4246-96E1-D7E4D3360F42.jpg5950F04A-6BFE-4D96-B41D-CAE83B09F466.jpg

I think I might paint my grill white instead of matte black after seeing your truck. Just wondering where I can find a rattle can that will match it pretty good.

I didn’t use a rattle can, but I think that would be the perfect solution if you paint it. Toyota super white is pretty forgiving when painted. The photo of my truck that you copied was on factory paint everywhere except the grille and bumpers. My local Napa doesn’t make it, one about an hour away does. They can mix paint and put it in a rattle can for you. Base-clear or single stage. I’d probably go with the single stage, as that’s what my whole truck is painted with. Ask your local Napa if they can order 2k paint in a rattle can, if they don’t have the machine there. When you are ready to spray, you push a button on the bottom of the can to release the hardener in with the paint. Shake it good, and spray away! Only downside is after you pop the hardener, you’ve just started a timer, as the paint will then cure inside the can, so no touching up anything the next day. I think the 2part rattle can is a great solution if you don’t already have a paint gun, or a compressor to feed it clean, dry air.
My truck actually came with the chrome grille and bumpers. I traded a guy even for his base bumpers and grille (he worked with me). He couldn’t believe that I would trade him even, and thanked me a hundred times or more. Other guys at work said I was stupid, saying that I just gave it all away. When I rolled up at work after painting everything, nobody said a damn word! Lol, then everyone was picking on the other guy because my truck looked better than his with no chrome whatsoever!

Well you had a vision and went for it. And it definitely paid off cause that's a sweet looking truck! Thank you for the info, I'm going to see about getting one of those rattle cans made for me. I already primed it in black but I don't care I'll redo the whole thing if I have to.

A little before and after when I first got the truck and where it's sitting now. It was my grandfathers. He bought it brand new in 2004 and only put 65k miles on it. It's sitting right around 70k miles right now.

I liked those vintage wheels, I had them on my 93 truck and had them polished because they had been curb rashed by the p/o and the clear was coming off. They came out pretty well, didn't have to worry about a clear coat and if they got dirty or needed a shine, Mother's Mag Polish did the trick!
