Benzoyl, where did you get your Osram bulbs? I want to try their 70w ones first before attempting the ultimate harness.

Headlight Services, where I bought the harness, do sell bulbs as well. I believe I purchased mine on ebay because they were a bit cheaper. I tried the same thing you're looking to do and was not satisfied. Buying that harness is definitely the way to go if you want to run Halogen bulbs. Even if you only run 70 watt bulbs, you'll get the full benefit of them with the new harness, connected directly to the battery. And as I've learned from other members here, you don't want those factory wires overheating! Definitely get the harness if you're going the Halogen route

cheap LED module, look at the size of that cob. You need a bulb with a smaller cob, that more closely matches the same size as a halogen filament. That is about 10x bigger and will throw light everywhere.

Notice the size of the cob on a higher end unit such as a GTR lighting bulb.

I just purchased a set of teq oem+ for my 02 Taco. Hope they are an upgrade to my led blinding headlights.

i just installed my set of oem+ style ones from them and have driven the last two nights, it is such a big difference from the oem hallogens, remarkable (though expected i guess). the cutoff line is super clean as well, i reckon you'll be quite pleased.

only thing i dont like is that now the front end looks a little bug-eyed but well worth it for visibility at night

    enjoy!

Yeah I really like my TEQ customs too. I do wish I had installed the halo to run on running lights for twilight driving but really that only lasts for about 20 minutes before you need the full headlight.

When I installed them there was an optional wiring from the resistor for Running Light or Flasher, two wires in, one wire out. I wonder now if the halo had two colors based on the wiring. IOW could it be that it would run white halo until the flasher kicked in and switched to yellow and then back to white halo after the flasher was disengaged.

The instructions were vague about this. If anyone knows please respond. I'll go in and rewire it so I have that function.

Timmy The Toolman install was with the RGB controller and the TEQ instructional video and paper instructions are not crystal clear about the halo for the OEM type. I'm not the type to be dancing to my disco RGB lights lol but would like the white and yellow combo if it is there.

One other thing, is there a Left and Right adjustment on OEM or TEQ custom headlight. After driving mine a while it just seems the passenger side is very slightly leftward facing from center-straight forward. Its not enough to notice unless you are really looking closely at it from the cab. Maybe on left turning curved roads you can see it. Perhaps I am a bit OCD on it. Maybe its just so bright that it shows up more than with the old OEM. Its one of those things where once you see it you can't stop seeing it. But if I know I can do nothing I'll tend to relax over time, if I can fix it I will. I'll look in my Haynes to see if there anything about it just in case.

    Have a nice Labor holiday

PS: I used a long 0.25"x18" metal dowel/rod to push the grill clips down with zero breaks to get the grill off then remember to line the clips up, they can slide right and left a bit, when re-installing your grill.

There is a small adjustment screw on the bottom inner part of the housing that you can adjust for height. Im excited to get mine installed.
