1st gen BAMF Skids!!

Edit: The whole rig, not just the bumper. Now that would be weird.

 

Yeah bumpers have never happened i just don't have the time to design them.

I don't know if I can wait any longer... Sorry to say but I think I'm over the BAMF hype, I'm sure it won't matter. But if it happens in the next month I'm good for it, if not count me out.

 

Unfortunately, I am in a similar boat. Gotta do something soon.

 

Totally understandable but there is no way it's happening in a month. Even if we started designing today no skids would be shipping for at least 3 or 4 months. I didn't think this was going to happen from day one. Sorry to say but the 1st gen aftermarket is dieing off. Almost every 1st gen part on our site doesn't move and were slowly removing them from our list of products as they sell out.

 

I went into this 9 months ago knowing it would be extremely unlikely to see these get produced in 2018 so your one month number was never part of the expectations for me.

However, if I am reading this right, we are no closer now than we were 9 months ago when Monte started this thread. I suspect that even if you said you will start designing these today, we would be lucky to see production units before next spring. For me this puts in into the danger zone if we go much longer because it means not having something before next years wheeling season starts.

Also, in the back of my head is this buzzing noise that says BudBuild might, at any time, follow suit with you and Eric and others in stopping support for 1st gens.

 

Well...we tried. Sucks.

 

It's very likely to see all 1st gen parts be removed from vendors lists in the next couple years. I know were not the one one that sits on 1st gen parts for months and months.

 

Sounded like a good idea but was hesitant from the beginning.

I was hoping this wasnt going to fall apart. I'll probably put an order in for some from a different vendor if nothing materializes soon. It's a shame that 1 gens are dying off. I realize alot are already customized and newer rigs are becoming more profitable to make accessories for. Too bad 30 wasnt possible.

 

There are way more 2nd gens on the road than 1st, so chances of you selling merch for those trucks is already greater. We know the price of 1gens is more reasonable and therefore ends up being owned by more frugal members. However, I think in terms of most other vehicles, tacoma owners (as well as jeep and other enthusiasts) spend more money on their rig than the vast majority of drivers. And mods come second to performance and maintenance upgrades. Armour is low on the list for many, as there are better bang for your buck items out there (a regear can be had for the same price as front and rear bumpers).

But I totally get where you are coming from. I'm not cheap with my truck, however, and shudder to think how much I've actually spent on it. I could have two 2nd gens for what I'm in it for haha.

 

Guess my RAT skids will have to do...
