You can request someone to do a Photoshop in the request thread. If you can't do it yourself.

Also there is some 2nd gens that are red to get an idea.

Looks great! How accessible is the hood latch with this grille?

????? It's the same as it always is? You open the hood with the latch inside the cabin and slide your hand above the grille/under the hood.

On my 2001 I have to reach through the grille to unlatch my hood after I pop it from inside the cab. If a new grille doesn't have big enough holes to get a finger through, I'd need to make some kind of coat hanger hook to get my hood open. Sorry if I wasn't clear. I'm not sitting in front of my truck now, but I don't think there is enough room to get a hand under the hood after popping it to disengage the hood.

I was actually just thinking about hood latch access the other day. I'm wanting either one of these grilles or a grillcraft, but was wondering how the hell the hood will be able to open if i cant reach though to the hood release.

You have to "pop" the hood. And once it's released you must to slide your hand between the hood and the grille surround. You then need to rest the hood on your hand. And with you fingers you move the latch 1/4 to your left and lift on the hood.

    :D

I doesn't seem like he's interested in making anymore. He hasn't chimed in at all about this grille. Unless he is just Pming everyone...

Guys guys....nothing changed from 2001-2004 on the Tacoma hoods, latches, or grilles. Go to your truck and try it. Yes can you put your fingers through the grille, but you can also slide your hand under the hood, lift it and pull the latch with your fingers after you've popped the hood from the cabin. Go try it and you'll see.

    ^ correct!

If you have the stock grille you can open the hood by inserting your fingers into vertical grille columns. If you have mesh or bdf grille you have to do it horizontally under the hood. As I do.

I hate to bring up an old thread but, I am looking for a new grill for my 1998 Tacoma. I wanted to see if the OP (or anyone else) ever built one for the 1998?
