Going to go look at a v6 auto extended cab tomorrow, it has a 2inch lift and 33 inch tires. I don't really know much about lifts is there anything i should look for/inspect? Also, I looked up the vin and it said it was auctioned off as having frame damage, kinda seems like a big deal, wasn't mentioned in the ad at all though. Anything I should look for?

After comparing the the v6's and 4's more I think that im now maybe open to both possibilities like some of you said when the right one comes along whether 4 or 6 it'll be the one.

    Exactly!

I have a feeling everyone who's saying that the 2.7 has plenty, or even adequate power, has got to be a flatlander
To have to downshift on the interstate to maintain speed on such minor grade increases that, before hand, you barely realized there was change in gradient at all, to me, just wasn't acceptable
I didn't buy a truck for speed either; but, I did have an expectation that whatever I buy should be able to take passes better than my x-girlfriends 89 Honda Civic that had dragging brakes

The 2001 toyota echo I had for a few months this year as a commuter car was an absolute rocket compared to my truck. Though it weighed as much as a gokart, it was adequately powered for what it was and an absolute blast to drive.

The right one won't be a 4cyl. Seriously, this is coming from someone with a 4cyl a state over from you. I'm not some 6cyl elitist, do it right the first time. Also, check the frame of that one you were going to look at (I think you said it was 6, right?) like someone else mentioned. Look for repairs to the frame as well. And as far as the lift goes, check and see if its a spacer lift. Google for pics of these on strut assemblies, and inspect rear too... easy to find pics. You would probably want to avoid if so.

Let me rephrase since you're apparently quite touchy when it comes to spacer lifts (I've seen your name in every spacer lift thread I've read since joining).

If you learn that a truck has frame rust and is being sold by a dealership omitting all information pertaining to this, you'll probably want to avoid it.

Now, maybe you can explain to him the difference between an in coil and above coil spacer, providing pictures of your truck wheeling and defying the whole bottoming out thing while ferverously masturbating.

This. Automatic in the mountains makes it pretty clear.

Here's the link to the one I saw today: http://www.ksl.com/auto/listing/667685?ad_cid=2

I went with my buddy to check it out and it seems like a fairly low price for the deal, as stated above the VIN showed that it was auctioned off as having frame damage (didn't specify) but me and my friend didn't notice anything particular when we inspected it just the normal rust as most Tacomas, and we didn't see any repairs that were made to the frame itself.

We asked the guy who was selling it, he's actually a really nice mormon guy who is selling it for his son who's away at school and doesn't need the truck about the frame. He said his son never really knew about that as the VIN showed it happened over 6 years ago.

Im not really too knowledgeable on lifts so here's some pics I took of that:

Felt great honestly, low noise while driving super easy to switch in and out of 4L, 2H, 2L.
The Belts were super tight and everything worked well, AC was cold in an instant. There was a slight noise maybe with a power steering pump we thought when we opened the hood while it was running, but not totally sure what it was seemed minor though.

....Say if I ever wanted to lower the truck how difficult would it be to remove those spacers, are they something that are on the front and back (since I can't remember) and if not what would I have to do to the back?
