Pretty much everything on my 98 was original when i picked it up.

I did the LBJs because they were leaking and i've read enough tragic stories to see what happens when you let them go for too long.

    What else can tragically fail?

Im planning to replace the upper control arms, UBJs, struts, inner and outter tie rods, sway bar links, and steering rack next spring because they all look worn to me.

Is it safe to put that stuff off?

Also, any recommended brands for that stuff or should i go all OEM? I installed OEM LBJs of course.

It's not a "tragic fail" but the valve cover gaskets are a well known fix for the v6. Also have you done your timing belt/water pump yet?

Steering rack oem is best but cvj and rack doctor are a bit cheaper and good replacements.

Timing belt was supposively done in 2008 and 40,000km ago (apparently truck was only driven 40,000km in the last 8 years).

I do intend on doing the timing belt/water pump and valve cover gaskets next spring as well.
