@2BeersPlease, Nice! That was very informative. I'll have to follow them.

I also found a few that were decent for different models, 4x2 and 4x4s

OP take a look, may be worth tagging.

And now....you guys got me all fired up to do maintenance......gonna cut into Happy Hour.
After reading some above info, I went out and found 9 zerks on my 2 drive shafts.....I was able to access all of them and put grease into all. Some appeared to have never been touched!
Next on my list is fluid replacement in both diffs, T-case, and tranny....maybe tomorrow.

Anyone know of a 1st gen 3.4l 4x4 u-joint DIY guide? Or anyone have some tips? Is there an order to disassembling the 2 u joints at the transmission? I’m having trouble getting it all apart:frusty:

Toyota didn’t make these Double Cardon Joints to be rebuilt. Even if you get it apart it will
be a problem to balance because of the design. Your better off having a drive shaft company install
a Spicer Double Cardon Joint that is designed to be rebuilt if needed to your driveshaft or get a completely new driveshaft with Spicer components.

Depending on the miles your splines might be worn out too and be better to buy
    a completely new shaft.

Hey do I need to put this new driveshaft on any certain kind of way for balancing or anything?

I assume I just bolt her on and maybe I’ll need to take her somewhere to have it balanced on the truck?

It’s pre balanced, all you need is to bolt it in, nothing else.

I have zero issues and zero vibrations all the way up the speedo
