No idea on what brand the shell is. It is a Thule rack system with a cheap Amazon basket on top of that

Decided to go with black flares and mirrors (installing them soon). Keeping the chrome door handles till I find a color matched set. Looking for used handles since they are $80 a piece from the dealer.

Didn't like the color matched flares? I've been contemplating color matching mine...

Some colors look better color matched, I say do it. Opposed to impulse red or gold black goes well with it.

The rear drivers side flare has some scrapes that were deep enough to remove some paint (purchased it like this). I was planning on repairing it and instead decided that the OEM plastic black flares would be more durable on the trail (and at the mall parking lot...lol). I'll still have my color matched set so if the black flares don't work for me, they'll go back on after I repair the damaged one.

My plan is to eventually have a color matched grill, corners and door handles with black flares, mirrors and plate bumpers.

I say go with what you like. In my opinion the black flares have a sportier, more rugged look to them.

How did you color match your bumper and flares. Was it a DIY or did you have it professionally done? Looks good.

    Its okay man,

You can definitely go to a shop and have them color matched if you want. Thats what I plan on doing eventually.

Anybody here ever modify a ExtraCab frame to fit a DoubleCab?
I have an 01DC with a rotting frame and have access to an EC frame. I know the body mounts don't match but that is an easy fix. I'm not sure if I will have any other major issues with the swap. Any input would be appreciated.

Just did it to an 04 DC I got cheap. I used an 01 EC frame and ordered the rear cab mounts and front bed mounts from the dealer. Cut off the old, measured and welded on the new. Easy. Otherwise the frame was EXACT.

All parts were available other than one bed mount reinforcement which was just a 90 degree piece that went from the top of the frame to the back of the bed mount. So I made one. I'll see if I can find the receipt for the parts and I'll post the part #'s
