Had to buy a DC because of passenger requirements, would never go back to an AC or regular cab. Love mine.

I don't remember seeing your DC, but Im with you, never go back to an AC. or regular, I sold the tundra 2002 AC and later got the tacoma 2000 ac , they are a pain to open the rear door and/or can"t take family for long trips , so i love DC , family man.

Glad you guys did this DC thread:thumbsup:

I should have done that when I bought my truck with a burned up automatic transmission. Instead I paid $2800 to have it rebuilt at a reputable place with a warranty.

I've got the dealer installed version that has 2 height positions. I need to make a cover for it to keep the truck from getting so hot in the summertime.

When you turn the knob to the windshield defrost or the windshield+floor position, the air-conditioning automatically turns on. *SECRET* If you don't want the A/C pump running, but want to blow some air onto the windshield, pull the knob off and turn it one click more clockwise, past the defrost position and it will be on windshield but won't run the A/C.

Wow, never ever seen that in a DC. I'm slightly jealous. Also never knew that defroster secret!

Here's a photo from my long road trip from California out to Colorado and back - this one in Silverton, CO. This was with the BFG KO2's but before the OME suspension install.
    IMG_3946.jpg

Here's the most recent photo I have of my minimally modified truck. - BFG KO2 265/75R16's, OME suspension, ARE DCU shell (soon to be replaced by a AT Habitat).
    20161019-tacoma.jpg

FUTURE PLANS: Adventure Trailers Habitat - better design than the Flippac - flips over to give you an awning as well as a bed.

The sunroof is removable as well. Good for warm nights and star watching from inside!
