How long have you had them off? Any issues with dings and rock chips on the sides of the truck since they've been off? Other guy in thread said he's had the off probaly 3yrs without any issues. Just want a second opinion.

Since that boulder ran into me on the trail last july. Since my tires are super wide 33x12.5 10 inch wide wheels, i sling alot of shit up on the truck. Doesnt bother me. No scratches.

I did it! Well one side so far lol. How do I get rud of the "fender line" thats on the truck. I washed it with water 1st which got rid off dirt and gunk then goop off. That seemed to help but do the fenders need buffed? Now my 31.9s look bigger :) still up in the air on final decision but I'm liking it so far. Prolly like it a lot more with the "plugs"

My paint is so bad you can see where the clear coat was under the flares and where there is no clear coat anymore on the rest of the truck

Oh dang. I'm worried about that hahaha. Actually just waxed the truck today! Got a dime size spot on the tailgate already that the sun has eaten up. SUX!

Yikes. Didn't even think about the paint. My paint is so shitty just about the only places I have clear coat is where the flares were. I'd rather have em off though

Cant even tell in your pics. Maybe those are older pics. Or since its white it doesn't show as much. AZ sun beats on cars here. Eats the clear off of cars so bad. Especially red ones. Guess I'd rather have that issuse than rust issues from the ocean or places that salt rds when it snows :)

Are there only two bolts per side holding this bumper on?

If so, I wouldn't pull anything significant with it..even the factory hitch has like 4 bolts on each side.

Edit: also, the second slotted bolt wouldn't hold much weight during a pull..

Yea I can understand. Shoot freakin blows cuz I cant park in the garage anymore since I installed my lift. UNLESS my wife pushes up on tge door then I have like 2" of clearance. Haha. I do have a carport in the backyard so i may start parking there.

Funny thing is I believe my new brackets that we made are the same exact footprint as the factory brackets just not angled upwards. Slotted and all. So yes 2 bolts I guess.

My trucks in my shop right now, but let me see if I can find a picture of the brackets. During a recovery, say someone pulling your truck out of a mud hole, that bumper could EASILY become a projectile. You technically only have two bolts that need to shear to release the bumper and any energy stored in a tow/recovery strap.

Heres what 2001-2004 brackets look like. So correct me if I'm wrong but is there beefier brackets one could get for recoverys?

And the bumper is not complete. Got .120 wall DOM bent for the sides that are going to have a brace running underneath and bolt to the frame. Similar to Box Rockets old truck thats pictured here. Just waiting for my welder to get some free time. Rock sliders are going on too.

I like the naked (no flares) one...haha.

Might end up going you're route with the allen head bolts and washers. The plastic retainer clips I planned on color matching and popping in the holes ended up being too small.

Options are unlimited. ..you can do a flat screw. Or rounded. I like the ones i went with. You can even go with plastic ones
