I was looking behind my backseat yesterday trying to figure out how I'm going to fit a 12" sub enclosure back there. I dont' think it's going to work . So I'm looking for ideas.

If you have a 1st Gen DoubleCab with a sub or two installed, please explain or show some pics of how you have your enclosure installed. I only see enough room to maybe fit an 8" enclosure ???

I really don't want to put something under the passenger seat, but I'm wondering if that's the only option.

Although not always practical, I have to show off the blow through that I did on my 02 DCab. I went with (2) Kicker KM-10 Marine Subs installed in the bed with just a 6" x 4" port through to the cab.

Was gonna probably run 2 8's myself. Planned on getting the box pre made from supercrewsound.com and most likely run the shallow mount pioneers they show as well. Saw some YouTube clips and they seemed decent with good reviews.

I'm just looking to have it fill out the stereo, no more earth shattering bass. Those days are over for me haha

If your still set on a 12 or a 10 at least. Some people have fabbed stuff between the back seats as an arm rest. Or if you have some skills you could replace the center console with a custom box and gain some air space there?

Good luck and post up what you end up with

I'm with you, I'm not out for earth shaking bass. The reason I'm trying to figure out a clean way to install a 12 is I want the frequency response at a dB level I can at least hear. 8's have the frequency response, I'd have to install a pair though to get the dB level, not heart stopping but loud enough to crank it up once in a while and just enjoy the equalized sound spectrum. I'll check out supercrewsound, maybe that's my only option for something clean.

Someone else on here bought their box and installed it. I'll see if I can find the thread. I've never had 8's. A buddy of mine had 4 and they sounded really nice. There were only a few notes it couldn't compete with against my 12.

I think where it lacked would be ok for my music taste anyway. I plan on going that route it's just time and money for me. Once I get it I'll be sure to post up my thoughts.
