As far as plug and play with any 1st gen Tacoma you don’t really need to plug in anything relatively speaking to make the truck function. It’s literally 1 power and 1 ground to light up the entire truck with no engine or transmission in it. And I’m talking everything works. Radio, heater, lights even the door chime still works with no engine. So like my 4bt it’s stupid simple since the truck is already powered I have 1 wire to my fuel shut off and my starter wiring and that’s it minus gauges to make it run and drive.

as far as adding power to a diesel its really just adding more fuel and air. Like turning up the injection pump and adding boost.
but that’s a seriously stripped down version. To really make good power and be reliable are alittle different.

yeah, yet another reason to love simple system. with my plug and play comment tho I was more referring to any firewall, body, and frame work that'd need to happen. seems to me that a Toyota Engine might go in a bit easier than a Cummins. just my perception though so who knows if it's accurate. in fact, it's probably not:D, being that i realistically know very little about engine swaps.

As far as frame work, a couple plates and mounts and your done. If you don’t pick the biggest freaking transmission like I did you don’t have to cut the trans tunnel or anything. The 4bt fits perfectly in there. And just run your wiring through the firewall where the old engine harness ran into the cab 77E83581-3E02-459D-8998-E7E6609A726B.jpg

Biggest pain is headers!!, decided to go with turbo, forward headers. We already installed push rods, dual springs, trunion, cam, new timing/tensioner. Need to install new injectors and project continues.
