I had a FM 40 on my truck for a few years, then I chopped it off and ran no muffler for a year... then I went back to stock. Had to order a whole new muffler from the cats back from Autoplicity. Best $160 I ever spent IMO.. I think it was a Bosal OEM replacement. I also took it off because if I wanna be loud.. my 12" sub can pound the ground enough but I have the ability to turn that down if I want :p

Yes if you want a true OEM replacement get the Bosal. Autoplicity had the best prices with free shipping.
Take that back, it wasn't $160, it was $122 total.

Here is the one I purchased (for my 2004 4wd Ext cab): http://autoplicity.com/products/2856102-bosal_295_187_muffler.aspx

Jk, no idea man on your question. Prolly wouldn't make much difference either way as long as it fits right. But I get wanting to get the absolute best one since you're in there already, kinda thing

I recently got the MagnaFlow 18" with custom stainless from cat + side exit.. I really like it - louder than stock, and no annoying drowning... Sounds like a truck.

Icon/TC Mid travel, TRD S/C, PNP Greddy EMU, 625cc injectors, 2.2 pulley, Hayden tranny cooler, AEM wideband, TRD boost gauge.
I wanted to keep OEM (getting older, not a fan of louder anymore) but the bud built trac bar required a smaller footprint muffler. I went with some brand X muffler on Amazon for the same pipe diameter and engine displacement that is an OEM like replacement (quiet) but it's likely too restrictive.IMG_20180129_092034.jpg
Amazon linking sucks, it's a Walker 21357 quiet flow. It's pretty quiet but I still like the OEM more

I might just try my hand at a more flow happy exhaust that is still quiet. I used 3" piping on my is300 with a resinator and a dynomax VT valved muffler and it's crazy quiet for being a 500+ hp capable exhaust. Made a similar variant for a buddy and sounds even better {quiet but tuned (VT in the mid section, vibrant can in the back)).

    Literally my truck :D:D

Can vouch putting the glasspack on the 5 lug made whipping it 100x more fun. Even if it's a slug

Jones 2525 (used to be aero turbine) in stock location, with side exit is as close to the stock TRD (axle dump) I had before. Deeper sound, no drone, doesnt sound hollow or raspy when you get on it either.

Anyone have any experience with a Gibson on this Thread ? Have been looking for an exhaust for my 04 3.4l extended cab and was originally looking at the Borla kit but according to multiple vendors it doesn't fit the extended cab and now trying to decide between the Magnaflow, Gibson, Or Bosal.
