    Just installed a set of kings. Left my bump stops where they were (stock height). Removed the shocks and let the limit strwps down pretty far, axle wasnt binding nor was the uniball or tie rod yet.... installed the king and found the king was too short to bolt up at full droop. Thought that was odd but i guess king is just looking out for otheir customers limiting their down travel to reasonable numbers... so i strapped the down travel about a quarter inch above the fully drooped king shock. With that done that way, I cycled ~7.5 inches. Took that pic cuz it looked cool. 285 barely fits;)

    was it an ext travel king? i thought they cycled about 8.5 mid travel.

    This sounds about right. I've always felt my extended Kings were a bit shorted than the SAWs that preceded them.

    Maybe thats why they broke so much. dude one year down if i only broke one a day i was doing good. it was closer to 3 a day.

    EDIT: And this kids is why i said fuck that and sas'd with a dana 60 and 18" 2.5 SAW's at the tire i have 21 inchs of travel and the side walls give me another 4-5 inchs. that was a 48" tire i was flexed on and it still had more to go.

    The 7.5" seems a tad low to me and 9" seems a tad high. I think I measured 8" for the Kings and 8.5" for the SAWs. SAWs were definitely longer.

    Here is a visual of the two shocks next to each other from when I was making the transition.

    I'll play. This is my first run after installing ext travel Kings and TC uca's. Rear is stock leafs with 1.5" longer shackles and 5100's

    Not maxed out, still had an inch at the rear bumpstop and about 1/2" of space at the front bumpstop.
