If you meant this white plug not connected to anything, I plugged that into the seat belt buckle for the sensor.

I just rustled up some used 1st gen OEM GOLD I could not find new, the rear cab trim panel from a double cab PN 64271-04080-B0.

    20201127_131422.jpg

This however was seemingly quite the fair deal on the bay itself at $120 shipped especially compared to the new oem price for these when you could get them.

Guess we can't totally rule it off the shopping list yet!

Struck some more GOLD recently.. found the actual rear cab panel trim for my 02 regular cab in Charcoal from a fine Tacoma World citizen!!

    20210101_152848.jpg

Popped it in my old first gen, there is nothing like staring at giant shiny oem parts..

OEM parts are *always* more expensive, especially for a 20+ year old truck

but that emblem Ebay seller is on crack, and so are the 233 people that have apparently bought them.

If you buy those emblems, I have a bridge to sell you as well.

100% make your own. Probably cost you $20. I'm thinking a sheet of 1/8" ply covered in upholstery carpet, maybe with a loop of piano wire on one end to act as a spring to keep it in place.

I've even seen ones made from the same stuff that sun shades are made of.

I wonder if a split emblem works like a torn dollar... Just tape it and good as new?

It's their last one in stock, so they bumped it up. 233 people didn't buy it for that

I’m going to visit the junkyard for the first time. What should I grab for my 2000 5vzfe manual TRD while I’m there? I’m thinking ideally smaller expensive stuff will be good to grab. Especially stuff that tends to fail or will become hard to find in time. Thoughts?

Also if you know what’s good to grab for a 2006 CR-V that would be helpful.

Great minds think alike! Tacoma and 2nd gen crv is where it’s at.

good call on the plastic roof rail. I actually do have a damaged roof rail. I also have a window that vibrates when the passenger door is shut. Idk what that is yet.

Absolutely crazy price for the emblems. I took this picture today and I hand painted this tailgate emblem very carefully 10 years ago while it was on the truck with a tiny brush. It’s held up quite well with Krylon plastic paint.

Being in Canada I get a lot of stares because reg cabs were not sold here and these :canada:tailgates had decals versus emblems in this generation. My truck is a US model.

Your story makes me want to scoop up any OEM goodies my truck needs while I still can.. maybe not the overpriced ebay items however!

I had my truck repainted recently and can’t find badges for a decent price either I miss my emblems but seems like it would be pretty tough lining up new one since there all seperate letters. Also those bucket seats are awesome would you be willing to sale them?

The front grille badge, the door emblems and at least the tailgate emblem that says PreRunner SR5 are all still available. The “Toyota” and the “Tacoma” and the “Limited” emblems are all gone and discontinued. The SR5 side badges are also no longer available. I need the Toyota tailgate emblem then I’ll have a complete set for the future. The Toyota and the Tacoma emblems have been selling on eBay for $500 each for at least a few months and I’ve seen at least a couple sell. NOS discontinued parts take a life of their own price point wise on cult classic collector cars like NICE clean original first gen tacomas are these days.
