Good evening tacomaworld I drive a 98 Tacoma that has the first gen grey trd supercharger and I am experiencing what I believe to be belt squeal when I put it into boost. Ive tried new belts, including washing them with dawn soap and applying belt conditioner with no luck of getting rid of the squeal. I wouldn’t doubt the squeal is coming from something else and I’d love to get some input on what you guys think it may be. Thanks

I've heard the pulley it self can get worn out. Sure some supercharger guys will chime in.

Mine squeals, but only when the A/C is on. That’s a problem I had even when I was NA.

Personally I have never had a supercharger belt squeal with almost 600,000 miles on my supercharger.

Even with a worn pulley never had that problem.

There is a possibility it is related to the belt tensioner.

Do you have the old style tensioner or the replacement tensioner?

Possibly the tensioner is going bad? or tensioner bearing?

Typically a squealing belt comes from the AC or the power steering

My ac doesn’t work so it is never on, but I will look into replacing the pulley or the tensioner. Thanks for all the input I really appreciate it
