I busted out the shop vac and sucked up everything I could before popping the injectors out so hopefully very little fell in IMG_20240802_151613.jpg

Temp senders read weird on the stock ECU, and I think it's because the stock computer has a sensor pull up and so does the haltech but I can remember if that's actually a conflict and I haven't had time to research

Hmm I've not had problems with the factory sensors but I've also not been looking at onboard readings either. I would abandon scangauge or anything OBDII related after the HT. The only use for piggybacking is trans shifting

I think the sensor is reading correctly it just doesn't display correctly on the Scanguage. that's no big deal.

It was raining when I went for a test drive after swapping the injectors but on the Freeway doing 80 the coolant was reading at 172°
I'll have to take it up the mountain and see what it does and I need to drive to St George and back to really see how the temperature does.

Boost peaked at a little over 7psi today.

I may have reused the mls intake gasket one too many times or something it sounds like there's a vacuum leak on the drivers side. New gaskets have been ordered.
I also swapped in a new Wideband O2 sensor this afternoon. I also got the Pins and wired the WB1 into the Boomslang harnesses so I don't need to have it plugged into the front port and can put the dust cover back on when I'm not running NSP with the computer.

It's not running as smoothly as it did yesterday that may have to do with the possible vacuum leak in the plenum.

It's idling a little rough at the moment and it still has a little bit of a bucking sensation when starting from a stop. My wife said it felt like I'm driving a manual and not very well. It died on me once (yesterday) at a stoplight, thankful the guy behind me was paying attention and I didn't get rear-ended

Idling rough sounds like a job for a Haltech!

Completely separate, it's getting crazy how much St. George UT shows up in my life. Mostly business.

Maybe it just needs a little more time to learn the system. It does feels great while cruising. That rain really helped to keep the garage temperature down too

We can adjust your tip in, I have you set to basic transient not map prediction. But once your fuel map has adjusted decent we can just flip that over and tip in should improve a ton. I can't help your idle speed since you're drive by wire on the stock computer

    .
To recap, my idle sucked from the initial tune. It took a lot of thinking and even throttle screw adjusting to make it work well. Your hesitation from stop may be an undue richening, like mine was... switching to MAP prediction instantly solved that part of it

It definitely is, he doesn't really have control over his throttle rate because it's the E throttle and I use some old generic transient settings to get in started since when I configured it he was on stock injectors and I didn't have the time to fully adjust his fuel map. Some long-term trimming and then fuel map smoothing and I'll switch them over to map prediction and that'll take care of most of it

I did run a second calibration on the throttle position because it was reading at 2-4% without me touching it and I saw somewhere in there that I can adjust the throttle input so say the first 4% does nothing and then it goes from there and wondered if that might be useful but that's just where my thoughts went. I might just spend all of Sunday cruising around at different altitudes and speeds

It's because his truck his drive by wire and it's reading the amount the truck is using for idle control. I don't know if it needs a greater dead band or if they should have wired it into the pedal position sensor instead

Dang it's a scorcher today. We're currently in St George. Took the back way down here with some up hills and it did get up to 207 for a second but it's also 107° outside so I think that's reasonable. We'll see what happens going home with the heat and constant up hill. Should be a real good test
