    Nice, thank you.

Any chance you can post up audio/video of the horn sound?

Honestly have the same reaction. :D

I don't use the horn much and by the time I do I've sort of forgotten the mod. Blast the horn at someone and then drive the next mile or so smiling at the huge cad sound it had.

Anyway, not bad for $16 at the junkyard and certainly gets people out of your way.

I think I'm going to pick up an air horn or two from Harbor Freight. They won't be great quality but they cost ~$15 for two horns and a mini compressor, and are quite loud. I plan to wire them up to a 3 position switch with the Factory horns as well so I can choose which to use, including both as an option.

tried those... the included compressor doesn't live long.

The trumpet(s) otherwise... will put out sound...
I blew thru them with my home compressor (maybe 5+ psi
and about blew my eardrums out.

So... if they had a decent compressor or tank..
they'd be loud enough to be illegal.

the pitch is a little on the high side with the included compressor.
But if they had more air going to them... they sound better.

The Wolo bad boy puts out nearly the same sound.
not as cheap... but HF sells them.
The convenience is simply in mounting it...
and that it's self contained, plug and play.

I recommend mounting where the assembly can stay dry.

Ha!! My son got a '99 TRD this summer and that was one of our first improvements as well. Out to the junk yard and grabbed four horns out of an '97 Deville and put that under the Toyo hood. Very LOUD! You can also get the 4-note caddy horns on E-Bay. The 1999 (big) Caddys and prior years had the four horn set-up, 2000 and newer went to two (or three?) horns - not quite as loud as the older ones.

Yeah, that horn on the '99 Tacoma is just one small horn and was mounted behind the grill. It sounded to me like a motorcycle horn and would be hard to hear if the other car had his windows rolled up, radio on, etc. I'm glad we changed it out.

I bought an '02 TRD a month after my son got his (yes, caught the bug from him), and mine has a two horn set up so is plenty loud for the driving I do.

Good luck with whatever you decide on for your horn project.
