Hello, I have a 2004 Tacoma and I am considering replacing all the exterior lights with LED's. I would appreciate some suggestions on what lights are best and such. Also, I'm not very skilled with this kind of thing so installing resistors for the turn signals is intimidating for me. Is this something I should be concerned about as a beginner, or is it relatively easy? Thanks!

Would not recommend replacing headlights with LED unless you completely change the housing. I'm guessing '04 also uses a flasher relay like my '99. Its on the interior fuse panel. You should be able to purchase an 'LED compatible' one and not have to worry about installing resistors. Everything else should be plug and play.

Okay cool. Thank you for the info, I'd definitely like to avoid the resistors if possible.

while that lighting forum is nice, its not 1st gen exclusive.
    1. Get an LED flasher relay, no resistors needed that way.

I bought auxito led headlights but needed the decoders so they sent them to me free, in fact i have an extra set if you want them. Mine are H4 though since i have a 2002, not sure what connector yours are. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B09JZ6QZ6T?ie=UTF8

Taillights are tricky, most of the superbrightleds.com ones are cheap crap. I've had many go bad. so far im running these ok...

Thank you guys. I glanced at that lighting forum but I haven't had a chance to look at it too much, I noticed that it wasn't all 1st gen. I'll let you know if I want to take you up on those decoders, I'm gonna try and do some more research over the next few weeks.
