Kind of a niche question here but I picked up a pair of limited Tacoma seats. They have the adjustable tilt, power adjustable lumbar ( not sure how am going to get power), and the higher bolstering.

To me these look identical to the 3rd gen 4Runner seats and am wondering if the bottom cushion from those would swap over. They don’t make the Tacoma cushions anymore but have found a few aftermarket ones for the 3rd gen 4Runner. Anyone have these limited seats?

Definitely the rarer breed of the 1st gen seats. There are a lil crusty though haha

I've been looking for nearly 15 years now for a set, to no avail...

I’ve noticed all of the sets I have found have been in a double cab. They go quick though

I'd just look for a local auto upholstery shop and see what they could do. Having the seat already pulled should make things a little easier for them :notsure:

I would've just grabbed some 3rd Gen 4Runner seats; much more comfortable than 1st Gen Tacoma seats (I've owned both vehicles).

But if you insist on keeping them, just go through a local shop as mentioned above.

For the power, I had the power lumbar, my xtra cab had a wire under the carpet with a blank in it already to plug into.

True I think these are basically the same. Except I don’t have to bend down that front right mount. Will definitely be giving them a scrub!

I’ve sat in these 1st Gen sport/limited seats once.

They are comparable, or even maybe more comfortable, than T4R sport seats.

I picked up some 4runr seats for my 98. They look exactly like that except - no electrical function. All manual.

I’m pretty sure they are very similar If not the same besides the mounting. I’m hoping the replacement cushion matches up though

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
I have no idea what you are seeing that you all think the seat needs work . Being quite serious .

Sure beats the Gorilla tape on mine.

The OP says the cushions need help (maybe they're permanently compressed, etc).

I'd vote just to replace the seat, or take them to a local shop.

Not pictured but there are a few sizable rips and holes in the foam. I plan on getting these reupholstered and if I am going through that I might as well start with a new bottom cushion. I just bought a generic 3rd gen 4 runner bottom cushion so we will see, if it doesn't fit I can get the foam repaired.

Yeah the passenger side isn’t too bad. Driver side definitely has some more butt wear. If the structure was fine on the drivers I would just cover it and call it good
