Bout that time to bite the bullet and get a new Denso factory Maf sensor. I get a little bit of love buying parts from the stealership because of 20+ years of loyalty buying oem parts... Well long story short Im planing paying around $120.-140.00 and it came out to 186.00 plus change, I flipped! they have never been that price. I talked to my parts guy and he said it lists for 210.00 plus, and Im getting a deal. I didnt buy it, he said the price went up on them, what??? At Carquest my price for a Denso oem is 118.00, still high priced, should I buy it or does everyone trust the ones on Amazon for 75.00. I dont see these listed on URD's website anymore they charged 60.00, damn as I get older I pinch more pennies! I need some good advice because its not reading correctly anymore and Im running pig rich, and dont wanna wash my cylinders. Thanks all!

Can't say anything for the Amazon ones but I think @Gunny quoted me around $125 so that sounds about right. He is generally the best priced OEM parts guy around.

I've never cleaned or replaced my MAF, but it sure comes up a lot on this site...am I doing something wrong?

I put in a k&n about 5 years ago because I got tired of being asked to replace it every time I took it in for service. I live in a very dusty climate.

They go bad and wont throw a code usually if youre ecu is 2000 or older, its a bummer the supra badasses told me that part also controls my trans shift pattern on an auto, and I trust these dudes putting 1000bhp down with an A340e auto transmission. Mines been hard starting with remote start and hunting third gear when pushing the skinny pedal hard! Loss of power is the main factor bad smelling exhuast too.

Heck, I'll put a new one in if it's a recommended preventative maintenance item at high mileage.

Wow, you have hidden power trust me! look up how to clean it, youll be happy you did, unless its already running on limp mode and broke. They are supposed to be good for 100k mine have been replaced about every 75-80k. Pushed it further this time and Ive already bought a couple in gas money savings considering.

I bought one for my 04 3.4 Tacoma for $73.76 off of Amazon in 2015. I have 261k miles on my truck now. Don't remember the exact mileage when I changed it.

I think Im gonna try the Denso from Amazon thanks for the advice, shouldnt be any different than a more expensive one as long as it works. They have the correct part number so no brainer I may get two.

I tried one of the $75 aftermarket Denso sensors (V6, 99 up, 197-6020) for the heck of it as PM. The OE (Denso) maf was working fine and had been cleaned many times. I first monitored all the related signals with the OE, then the replacement. Nothing changed, air temp, flow or trims. The only visible difference between the two was the lack of the Toyota logo on the cover. Denso can not sell replacement parts with the "Toyota" name.

EDIT, Just checked and they are on sale for Prime members at $48
