Yep, TW is cetainly hazardous to one's bank account! Went over budget on this project...way over. No Bushwackers for me now...sigh...that will have to wait. And tires...and a bedliner to cover up the scratches the UPS man left behind...oh lord the list is growing still! Get me out of here!:annoyed:

Looks Good MT. How do you like the 881's you got? I might be buying the exact same set-up you just got. Just trying to figure out what coils to get.
Anyway, glad you were able to get it adjusted and can enjoy the truck now!!!

    So far so good.
I would say highway handling is the greatest improvement so far - curves were a little scary before, too much lean. And the steering is much more responsive (new sway bar & steering rack bushings).
Offroad, well, improved but I haven't been out since getting the front adjusted so it was a bit rough. Can't wait to see the difference the whole set up will make now that its done right.
Added bonuses, no more axle wrap (main reason for going with a 5pack leaf set) and I don't think I'm going to need ramps to do oil changes anymore. One less step to worry about there.
Stayed tuned for more updates. I plan on racking up a lot of miles in the next couple of weeks.

That looks great! So its the 881's up front, 5100's set to 0" and for the rear the wheeler's 5 leaf pack with 5100's? This is the exact setup I am purchasing in about 2 weeks, except that I'm doing the OME shocks front and rear, thanks for sharing.

In the last pic yes. Got a few hidden extras in there too, bushings etc. Figured as long as things were getting torn apart why not go all out!

Haven't taken any measurements since getting the front adjusted...I should do that soon.

I tried to get out for a little test run tonight after work (couldn't wait for the weekend!) but got stopped short. Good thing the gate was locked, then I don't have to admit to being a wimp and not wanting to drive through that! So I guess I have to wait for the weekend now!

So, chica (apparently my new name for you, don't know where that is coming from, I guess I am in the mood for margartias) you mentioned some vibes initially...

Does it still vibrate, or did lowering the Billies to 0 make the vibe go away?

    Chica...I've been called worse!:D Hmmmm...margarita...

No more vibes - just got back from and all day road trip - YELLOWSTONE! So 12 hours and 350 miles later I can report that everything is running smooth on the truck. Mostly highway driving again - boo - but the truck is awesome. I think I love it more now that I did when I bought it. I don't know why I didn't do all of this sooner...oh yeah, didn't know about TW back then...;)

Updated front end measurements are as follows:
    door sill 22.5"
top of fenders/wheel wells 37.5" drivers side and 37.75" passenger.
Backend hasn't settled at all yet, I was sort of expecting a slight drop right away.

So I gained 2" up front and 2.25" in the rear. not bad!

none! once i had the front end corrected (billies at 0) the vibes were gone.

UPDATE: Spent the weekend out with some fellow TW'ers and my Toy handled the roads (and at one point, the lack of roads) like a champ. I tried not to get too crazy, just out for a drive and some fun. I am amazed at how much better the truck handles, we were out for about 6 hours and I could have kept going. Before I would have been at least a little bit tired from fighting to keep the truck under control (jumpy steering wheel, etc.) but not anymore! It was definitely worth the expense! And the stress.

I'm happy with where things are at right now, and I'm done spending money for the moment.
I know that bad shocks can affect steering but I think most of my front end issues before were due to bad bushings. My truck is so easy to control now and it takes to turns so nicely. Before I was driving with a two handed death grip on the wheel at all times, not so anymore!

Did you do poly or rubber replacement bushings? My sway bar bushings look like they were microwaved then put back on...really bad. I am going to replace both rack and steering bushings but don't want to deal with squeaking on polyurethane.

i have the poly bushings - and the only squeaks on the truck are from the leaf springs nothing on the front end. do it, you'll be happy you did.
