1st gen ome coils on 2nd gen 4 banger 4x4

I've been searching and found that 883 coils for second gen can work on first gen, could that work the other way? I have a regular cab and am running ome 883's(590 lbs/in 16.5mm wire dia. 375mm free height) on ome shocks. It's too darn stiff rebounds like crazy, jumping frost heaves and stuff. The ome 2881(500 lbs/in 16mm wire 375 free height) looks like the ticket on 5100's. That way I can keep the others if this doesn't work out. Has anyone tried this or knows definitively whether or not this will work? Anyone know the block height of the two springs? Because I can't find that info. If asking here doesn't help, then I'll let you know how it goes in a couple weeks in case I waste money on springs.

I just ordered the 5100 adjustables with OME 2881 springs.
I have a 03 Std Cab 4x4 and expect to get 2.5" with no preloading.
Will find out what I get.

 

no only the 883 will work between the generations. I mean I'm sure you could mount them but something would be wrong. the rates or lengths would be off.

 

thanks for the replies, mr. biscuits may be correct, ride height/ride from soft coil, after some measuring and math coil bind doesn't look to be an issue, I will post in a couple more weeks when I can get them on the truck,

 

tried it, rode like a dream, 1.5ish" lift, but at full droop the upper ball joint boot hit the spring, running lr uca's, pulled the ball joint out to clear and lower cam bolts all the way out to get back camber, was still noticeably positive, can't justify burning threw tires on the daily driver

 

fully settled 2881's gave 1" of lift and worked great on ome 9000's
