1st Gen. ongoing prices..

I bought my 2004 extended cab SR5 4x4 in Dec. 2010 with 66,000 miles on it on it for $15,000. Originally it was from VA. Found it in the Truck Trader and bought it at Paradise Chevrolet in Ventura north of LA.

 

Navy truck from Point Mugu NAS, I bet. I lived in Downtown Ventura for 18 months, hence CA-33 being on my sig!

My 97 xtra cab 4wd is booked for like $5000, KBB excellent condition...but trucks shittier than mine go for $8000 all day long in my area.

 

Okay, so here's my truck in the daylight... I'm loving the camper shell with racks, ordered replacement keys since I forgot to get them from the original owner and don't feel like driving 100 miles to get them...

Paid $12,250 (without the shell, that was another $1,000) and it has 132,800 miles on it.

Forgot to mention that it was a 1 owner, perfectly clean carfax, came from Florida, but no rust that I can find. Inside is spotless as well! Never had anything towed with it (no hitch or ball on bumper) and rarely had anything hauled in the bed (no bedliner, bed mildly scratch inside). I, of course, added a bedliner on my way home with it because I actually use it to haul stuff with...

I was really lucky with my buy, I bought my 04' trd 4x4 with 25,000 miles for $14,000 out the door about 6 months ago. It is in mint condition.

Patience and the ability/willingness to pull the trigger quickly (when the "right" one comes along) are both key. I looked for my 1st Gen for the better part of a year!

 

HOLY CRAP! When you bought it, that was your day to buy lottery tickets!

 

It takes patience, I was looking for about 5 months almost everyday nationwide on CL and autotrader...but luckily I found mine only 2 hrs away. Try searching a little differently, like a more general search by not including "4x4 or Trd" because some sellers don't mention those words or numbers even though their truck is a 4x4 trd. So if you search for something specific it may not show up on your search if the seller didn't include those specific words, you'll only know once you see the pics or when you call them.. good luck
