    Exterior looks
    1st Gen > 2nd Gen

    Interior
    2nd Gen > 1st Gen

    Engine Power
    2nd Gen > 1st Gen

    Reliability
    1st Gen > 2nd Gen

    Comfort
    2nd Gen > 1st gen

Seem pretty even to me. I much prefer the looks of the 1st gen, but they are not nearly as comfortable or powerful as my '05. All boils down to personal preference.

Burnouts with a fall out boy cover of a micheal jackson song?

the funniest thing about that, is that you think a stock 1st gen could do any of it.

    Still mostly stock . . .
I think that the materials and overall build quality are higher on the first gen tacomas. I honestly can't see why the second gens are worth so much other than hype that was built by the quality of the preceding generations of Toyota trucks.

I've done body work on a few of the second gen tacomas and their body metal is not as thick or durable as the first gen trucks seem to be. the first gens also have a boxed frame for what it's worth . . .

I like almost anything that's a Toyota and 4 wheel drive. RAV4s and Highlanders are pretty boring, though. My sister's friend has an all wheel drive Sienna, and if you MUST have a minivan, that would be the one to get.
