Oh, hahaha!!! I want to build a Coma too, but it would be an access cab 1st gen. IMO, the 1st gen looks a lot more aggressive and rugged than the 2nd gen.

All tacos are good compared to say a dodge midsize truck which really looks like crap (all year models) especially the new ones. I saw a gen 1 taco this evening (DC) which was lifted some and the truck flat out looked beautiful. So I shot some pictures of my '09 access cab and realized it is actually not too bad looking either but I still prefer the gen 1 trucks as far as looks go. I have pretty much decided what I am going to do eventually: I plan on putting a dana 44 axle in front in place of the IFS, and a dana 60 axle in the back and both with detroit lockers. And a lighter flywheel with a MUCH stronger aftermarket clutch. Some disc brakes in the back and a Tom Woods driveshaft would be welcome additions also. These mods expecially the new axles are going to be an expensive change so will have to wait for the money to do them. Trying to make my truck into the bulletproof beast I know it can be. I would really like to find a nice smaller inline 4 cyl. diesel engine to put in it too but that is really getting extreme.

01-04's. I own a 2004 Dcab impulse red. Absolutesly love it. But my stepfather just bought a 2010 silver trd. very nice. But theres something I like more about the 01-04's. looks more like a truck

sold off my 95 tacoma a month ago. I miss it. I've been driving a 2nd gen for a month now. it's a nice truck but I loved my old beater.

the 6 speed MT is geared a little different of course than the old 5 speed...

Dayam! SWB looks really good with chrome and black parts. Too much SWB is too "pretty". Diggin the flat black OR rims. And the hood scoop actually looks good. Sick Coma dude!

the 2nd generation is styled after the good looks of the 1st so id have to say without the first generation there wouldn't be a 2nd. The 1st is easy maintenance. cable driven throttle body, built like a truck once used to be. steel. drives like a truck. if u want to pull off a robby gordon move you can. simple yet reliable.
