So I need to replace my sway bar bushings and links. No big deal except that a previous owner installed an after market sway bar on the truck. The upgraded bar is an 1 1/8 inch bar. The bushings that are on it are rather thin. ( 1 3/4 inches from frame to top of the bracket hoop. ) This doesn't leave much room for bushing material. Wondering what some of you guys with 1 1/8 sway bars are using for bushings? This bar is still using stock links if that plays any roll here.

What brand sway bar? I would contact the manufacturer who made the swaybar for a replacement.

If that falls through, I have a stock swaybar and links just laying around you can have for free, might be a bit of a drive to pick it up, tho... ;)

Yeah if I knew what brand it was this wouldn't be any problem. I would just order the bushings that went with this kit. I am thinking any 1 1/8th bushing would work as long as I can get the brackets for that bushing. The existing brackets just leave so little room for bushing material.
As far as the drive? Well I am not planning to head out west till next summer after the 4X4 swap is complete. I need the clunking noise from the sway bar to disappear much sooner than that.

there arnt that many aftermarket manufacturers of sway bars, Hellwig comes to mind immediatly. I looked through their online catalogue and I see where they do have offerings for Tacomas and I do see where they list the diameter of the sway bar... maybe you can get lucky there.
