I’m on board with selling too got my 98 2.7 extended cab 5 years ago for $5000. I see people selling with 212k miles on it for $12000. Mine I just put a new rebuild in it with a 3 year transferable warranty leather seats and Vinyl flooring. Just makes me wonder what someone would pay. I want a four door 1st Jen to replace it. Lol

Agreed, they are both in incredible shape and fully loaded down to the paint-matched shells on each. I just can't imagine ever spending that on them and even if I did somehow spend that, I would never want to drive it anywhere. Hopefully Jay Leno will find them.

I think people can tell this overheating bubble meme economy is about to implode and are trying to cash in while they still can.

If I were smart I'd be driving a beater Camry and saving for when truck prices plummet in the all but inevitable forthcoming recession.

I was at the "fish or cut bait" point with my 03 TRD ext cab as it's about to turn over 200k miles but looking at new(ish) truck prices.... Good lord! I'm going to drive it into the ground. So now I'm going to do a suspension upgrade, etc. etc.

Plus, registration is cheaper, insurance is cheaper, parts are available...and you can make it how you want without cringing.

I've noticed the same thing! I love my 1st gen, best off-road truck we've had. But I am thinking this market is hard to not want to cash out on right now. Probably going to be hard to find a reasonable replacement though...

I cashed out in this hot market and sold my 02 DC 4x4 W/ rear locker that had 230k miles on it and bought a 2013 DC 4x4. The stronger motor, larger modern interior, nice head unit, backup camera, etc. are all very welcome upgrades if you aren't off-roading constantly. Not a bad upgrade for you to make for less than $10k cash, I say take advantage of this hot market if you are getting that itch for something new.

Idk how many of the frames will survive that long though. They're notorious for rusting from day one and who knows how much longer you could get a new one.
