Hey all, I apologize if this info is somewhere else on this forum but I've loooed for that last few days and haven't been able to find it.

I'm planning to swap some FR-S 3.0 projectors in to my '04 1st gen. I'll likely go with 4500k. The question is can the 1st gen headlight lens handle the heat from a 55w when it's in a projector housing or should I stick with 35w? I know there have been issues with 55w HID bulbs in the stock bulb location but I didn't know if it was still an issue in a projector housing.

The headlight lens should be fine, the question is can the projector handle 55w? That is going to get the hottest.

TRS sells FR-S projector kits with 55w bulbs and ballasts. The projector will be fine. It's just the small 1st gen stock headlight that I'm worried about.

It should be fine, the halogens will put off more radiant heat than HIDs even at 55w.
