So i'm in on the group buy.

Can someone just confirm the following? I'm new to HID and the small differences in names still confuses me.

1. This is basically the Bi-Xenon FX-R Stage III kit from TRS.
2. Ballast is Morimoto XB35 ( I don't see 35W Morimoto on TRS)
3. Igniters are Morimoto XB (No mention of igniters in OP)
4. Bulbs are H4/9003 Morimoto 3Five BiXenon 4300K bulbs. (The Stage III kit actually only shows D2S bulbs)
5. Wiring harness is MotoControl Bixenon H4/9003.

 

Its seems like the minimum number requirement has been met. Lets get this thing rolling.

I'm still in. I'm actually kinda excited about this kit from my research. My stock lamps are so bad that I sometimes wonder if they are even on.

 

Yep, a few nights ago I flipped my lights off then back on to see if they were even on. I still couldn't tell, but I knew they were because the switch was on.

Really curious to see how these perform compared to drop in HID's , I'd love to improve my lights. I have HID's in my PIAA fogs and my regular OEM housings and still hate the light output. And I'm in Portland so I may be able to see a set if someone get's them here..... like PDXPUDDLE.

 

It's going to be night and day. HIDs dropped into the OEM housings is a waste of light that just scatters everywhere.

Just wanted to post some feedback from ambiguous on my questions.

1. I don't see a Morimoto 35W ballast on TRS. Is it called the Morimoto XB35 now?

Yes the 35W ballast is now called XB35.

2. I don't see a Morimoto H4 wiring harness on TRS. Is it the Motocontrol Bixenon H4?

Yes correct.

3. I'm pretty sure I'm going with the aftermarket housing but I might take an upgrade option on the projector/ballast/bulb if there is one. On this point it looks like there is a better warranty on the 5Five ballast. Does this ballast go with a higher stage/wattage bulb family? I don't see a 5Five bulb on the TRS page but I do see OEM bulbs which I'm not necessarily interested in unless there is some jump in performance.

The warranty on the 3Five ballasts is 5 years. The 5Five is either 3 or 2 years (they run hotter). From what a lot of people have told me that run the higher wattage 5Five is that bulb life is much shorter and the bulbs start to dim from the time you get them.
