Headlights are included with Stage 1 and Stage 2. Yes aftermarket lights are much cheaper than OEM but if you're a stickler for quality, you'll understand why.

FXR Stage 3 - if you want Stage 4, let me know by end of the day so I can get better pricing for you. Otherwise, it'll go up.

Backside of the headlights will have epoxy but I will make sure it's sealed and cosmetically appealing. I'm not one to leave the details out.

I'd be interested in stage 4 over stage 3, since the stage 3 FX-R's are on par with D2S 3.0's.

figured i would ask this again since i cant find any lol. but any chance on making these and having a leveling motor installed? would love to be able to adjust them on the fly depending on how much weight i have in the back. loved that feature of my suby.

 

I do understand that OEM quality will be higher.

From experience, one issue has been moisture intrusion with some of the aftermarket brands. I would think this should be a non issue tho as you will be removing and then resealing the lens as part of the retrofit. Some have had problems with the reflector which should also be a non issue with the retrofit.

Regarding the side marker lights on 1st gens, some aftermarket headlights come as a single piece, with the side maker light as a part of the headlight assembly, while some other aftermarket brands keep the headlight and side marker light separate, the same as OEM does it.

I was curious if you have already chosen which aftermarket brand you will use with the stage 1 setup.

 

Aftermarket headlight will be either TYC or DEPO (OEM style) - not 100% final on that yet. You're pretty much spot on about all the downsides of the aftermarket headlights. I could potentially go with another aftermarket 1 piece design but the cost will probably be slightly higher for those interested.

 

Cant remember which brand either TYC or DEPO for the 98-00s are permasealed instead of butyl. Makes it a fun task haha

I'll check tonight when I pull mine back apart, first set I used was butyl and it was cake. Second set not so much

 

I have been reading a bit about those two brands. Is it true that for the 2nd gens you pretty much stuck with Depo?

I don't think I would want a one piece type.

 

No there are other brands for 2nd gens but DEPO is probably one of the better.

 

So, any updates?
