    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

I'm not a fan of bolt on because I don't have to worry about bolts coming loose or getting scraped... I don't like drilling a bunch of holes in my frame... bolt on sliders are normally a lot heavier.

There's no chance I was ever going to take the sliders off after install. Some people don't want to make that sort of commitment lol

Those are Trail Gear sliders, I can tell from the part number. I have them on my double cab and they're great, taken plenty of hard hits and no bending. Check Jegs, I got free shipping on mine.

Makes sense, I guess I need to wait and see what the money flow is looking like. weld on prices are not too bad

yes, if only you were walking in my shoes!
looks like you're from sunny CA and might not fathom what commitment i gotta decide on
but its a bit off topic from the rock sliders (which I don't have on)

All the same reasons why I went weld on. Plus it’s just another reason for never selling the truck. BAMF sliders are still sitting in my garage though, waiting to be burned on.

And I'm curious what the difference is between the all pro and the BAMF sliders

Speaking from observation alone, allpro seems like it’s a *bit* lighter duty compared to bamf and mobtown. 3 attach legs instead of 4, and a bit more beef in terms of weight. I’m sure for 99% of folks it’s just astetics, shipping cost, and lead time. I could be totally off base.

Ive seem the bamf sliders in action and they look solid and perform the way a slider should...Ive been beating the shit out of my allpros and they have handled quite a few big slams. Either will do OP well. For the price of the Allpoo, its hard to knock a product that does what they're supposed to do.

Those look good but if you plan on doing any real offroading with them, you should get sliders that have the kickout design

Bolt on is not as strong as weld on sliders if you plan on using then to hold the truck with a hi lift or beating them on rocks. If not then bolt on is fine

Thanks for the great recommendations. I'm looking at the All Pro weld on, powder-coated with the kickout. I'll let you guys know how it works out.

THIS! ^^ I have the same from CBI and zero holes drilled. Best thing I've done to the truck, and man I used the shit out of them in Moab. Do drivers side first. As mentioned theres a lot of stuff including wiring so that will dictate placement a bit. Passenger will go on second, as it has more leeway for placement so you can get them as symmetrical as possible fore and aft...

Mine need repainting, I use chassis and roll bar paint. Glad I didn't to expensive powder coating as they got chewed to hell.

Edit: The bolt on worked for me as I don't know how to weld or have to pay for someone to weld them on. (But they cost a bit more than the weld on too.) They just worked for me.

    +1 on the kick out

Dude, I beg to differ. I beat the living shit out of mine on the trails and they are PLENTY strong. The way the mounts slide up the frame and "pinch" it, works fantastic. It took a floor jack to get them on. The bolts go over the frame and really add additional clamping force to keep them in place. I slid around boulders, cliff faces, come off of obstacles and slammed down on them, and had the full weight of the truck on the bottoms as I was climbing up a step and the whole truck pivoted with the full weight on the slider. They didn't budge and they did their job.

But you're okay with going out wheeling your brand new frame on hard enough trails to need sliders?

I hear a lot of back and forth on bolt-ons. The way I've seen a lot of bolt ons, I would have no doubt they are just as strong as weld-ons. Most use 1/4" plate that's bent around the frame. I don't know if you've seen how thick our frames are, but it's certainly not 1/4".

I chose weld-ons simply because I had a welder, and could get a set for 1/3 the cost of bolt-ons. If you don't have a welder, a good set of bolt-ons are just as strong. The other thing I don't like about bolt-ons, though, is the several plates that hang down slightly and can be potential areas to catch on things and hang up.

I admit I don't have much first hand experience with bolt ons, but a friend of mine has bolt ons on his 4runner and every time he uses his hi lift on them, he has to jump up and down on the sliders to bend them back in place or else they block his doors from opening because they get bent upward so badly lol. I'm sure that's not the case for all bolt ons though.

I’ve seen weld on sliders with the same problem. Wrong tube cross section choice, poorly design gussets, and incorrect material thickness will generally be a problem whether it’s bolt on or weld on.

I think the general sentiment that weld on is stronger than bolt on is mostly true (assuming the designs are solid). But the gap has narrowed significantly in recent years. I think for most people and most applications, the strength difference is negligible.

they were definitely sliders but I don't remember what brand, I have an idea but I'm not 100% sure... I don't want to throw shade on a company wrongfully

I’m repping All-Pro. Scrape then a few times on rocks and trees. The things I do to my truck there’s no going back, weld all the way.
