got the conversion parts Friday to go from piggyback to remote res. Spent about 5 minutes disassembling each shock, draining oil etc. Then spent the next 2 hours trying to get the damn top caps off. Why king uses red Loctite and the Hulk to put them on, i just don't understand. Going to swing by King today and see if they can break them loose for me so i can get them back to my fab guy, and keep this train rolling.

Install mostly wrapping up tonight. Everything is cycled, lower mounts are tacked, uppers are finish welded. Justin is going to finish welding everything tonight and give it a coat of rattle can black. My Deavers need a little attention, but the truck will be back together tomorrow.

Nice. Any improvements? Things that didn't work out?

It won't fit 2.5's without a 2.5 BS wheel on a stock width axle.

Well that’s not true because I’ve had 2.5’s in it for almost 3 years with a 16x8 3.5” bs wheel and no spacer.

Improvements; PURE BEEF, room for a hydro bump, installed by a professional, very clean finished looking product. I have a trip planned with Rogue Overland the last weekend of Jan, so I’ll put it to use and see what I find. May run up to Big Bear this coming weekend if I can wrap up the shocks.

Nothing that didn’t work out I don’t think. One of the pluses is that it tucks everything up as tightly as possible. The downside to that is the upper shock bolts will be super fidgety. I may take a hole saw to the bed and put a body plug in to make that easier.

Justin said he would write out some notes on the install for me to give to Eric, as one frabricator to another, but I’ll have to see what his thoughts were.

The lower mount takes a little thought because it lands exactly where the axle housing necks down, so the two radii are not the same, if that makes sense. I had the same issue with the Solo kit as well. Not sure how TC handles it.

Thanks Will. On that upper nut, I think I will make a flag nut for production kits. You can do the same by welding a ~2" leg or flag to the upper nuts that stop the nut from turning while you tighten bolt.

The axle tab I envisioned landing on the very edge of the collar factory weld to axle tube, which straddles the valley. But I'll hear suggestions on it

TC's mounts compensate for it. They are side specific.

Cool to hear though. Looks great.

Dang, this makes me want to consider this even though I just re-positioned my rears and dislike the mud sligning.

It only works with a skinny tire, Get a proper 11"+ wide off road tire and it rubs the shock body. Same reason your going from Piggy back to remote resi is to clear the tire.

I'm not shitting on this design or way of going about it but future buyers/installers need to be aware that it's a very specific wheel and tire setup to make this work.

Don't be alarmed, I posted that in post #1 from the very beginning.
There are compromises, such as requiring a more extreme wheel/tire fitment.

Benefits include moving shocks outboard for improved stability and handling, and wider stance to reduce the tendency to roll over

    Proper 11” wide tire?

The truck is built for how I use it, skinny tires have been proven to get better traction in almost every condition, especially the conditions I wheel in. I have no interest in wide, heavy, power robbing tires
