Hey, I just bought a lifted Tacoma off of a good friend and so far I’m loving it! I’m looking to do some aftermarket parts I’m for the truck but I needed some help. This has probably been answered before but will side steps from a 2nd gen Tacoma fit on a 1st gen? I’ve tried asking a mechanic friend but he wasn’t too sure and I’ve tried researching but no luck. If someone could let me know and if not, does anyone know where I can find a pair that look similar to the one in the picture?

To answer your question, I believe they will fit the body just fine, but I don't think they will bolt right up. If they're cheap, you could modify them if need be.

That’s what I was thinking. It should (hopefully) fit with some modifications

The 2nd gen is probably 6 or 7 inches longer in wheelbase so you may be trimming one end, or both, also in attempt to align the steps right with the doors.

I was looking at a 2nd gen the other day for the exact same reason. Cab underside is pretty similar, so brackets will probably fit, with maybe some minor modification but the thing is getting the side steps aligned with the doors and trimming their lenght
