Anyone have an answer to this dilemma? The 10" truck enclosure I had for my Ranger is waaaaay too fat. So I humbly come to my friends here for a solution... what did some of you guys come up with...?!

I'm looking for a subtle amount of boom but mostly just wanna listen to my hardcore/metalcore very loudly.

If you aren't looking for mega bass, and considering your cab space is precious and your listening preferences, maybe you could get away without a sub. Seal your doors, use some well-fed hearty midwoofers paired with appropriate tweeters, and see how that works for you.

Err, want really loud? Consider a midbass/horn combo.

Or maybe consider a small sub like a 6.5 - pretty easy to hide & won't need too much power. Maybe an underseat sub. Maybe a thin sub behind the seat. Maybe a custom fiberglass enclosure for an up front sub. Console sub?

Lots of answers to this one. Budget, imagination, and the amount of work you're willing to do will be your limits.

X-cab here, so the only thing I can say I've tried for sure that works really well is this

so much for passengers :D. It's just a temporary setup while I finish my rear wall, but man it sounds good!

I do want a little bit of bass... I am a bass head... I'll see if I can dig up the pics of the system I had in my ranger... RE Audio 10's. But as I get older I don't feel I need to quake the whole neighborhood like I used to.

I don't care if I have to eliminate the jack mount and such... as they have been relocated to the toolbox anyway.

I have a Kenwood powered sub under my drivers seat, it gives off enough bass to enjoy but if you`re looking to shake the neighborhood I`d go with something else.

Not enough to have a build thread.
I'll take a pic of mine. Thinking of selling it. I have dogs that need access to the cab from time to time and I cant fit a grill on one of the subs. Itll cut my boom boom in half, but I think I'll be able to live with that...

EDIT: didn't realize this was a single cab thread. Carry on.

Just had my 8” kicker hideaway installed in my Pro. Put it behind the back seat. It’s perfect for my needs....I don’t need roof shaking bass....just enough kick to fill in nicely. Really impressed with it.

Kicker hideasub under the driver seat in a 1st gen is the perfect fit. Had one in my 01 access cab for a couple years and currently in my 03 double cab. Perfection
