    I know there’s a few threads along the same terms. But I was wondering

    what size flair nut wrench(s) will I need? I found a video that says you need 10mm and 11mm flair nut wrench but I only saw them use the 10mm. Trying to save a couple bucks and if I only need the 10mm. I think the only other tools needed was a 12mm socket and pliers to remove the pin for the master cylinder?

    You won't need the 11mm. 12mm is standard on a lot of the bolt heads. 10, 12, 14 and 17 are the most used sizes on a Taco.

    It's hard to say who has done work on your vehicle before you owned it. Sometimes the sizes for nuts and bolts will differ slightly from what you find on your vehicle. You will probably save yourself time, headache, and money by spending the few extra dollars to own a decent socket set and some wrenches. This most likely wont be the last time you're going to be crawling underneath to change parts! John gave a good list of the most used sizes, I would recommend getting those so that you don't get stuck halfway through a fix because of an errant bolt or nut that is larger/smaller than the video guide is telling you.

    The fun with working on old Toyota vehicles you never know what your going to find.

    In theory unless someone has a bunch of adapters on the hydraulics you should be good with 10 mm line wrench.

    the bolts are M8 as long as they are JIS they will be 12mm but may be 13mm

    I got everything swapped out and the line bled. It seems to be working great.

    I found out that the 11mm flair nut wrench is used for the bleed valve on the new slave/return cylinder. I got duralast replacements from auto zone. So if you’re sticking to the aisin oem parts you won’t need it.

    So to answer my question you’ll need: -10mm, 11mm flair nut wrench
    -10mm, 12mm, possible 17mm sockets with 6” extension and 3/8 ratchet
    -DOT 3
    Possibly a new break hose
    EDIT: I haven’t done the line yet because I am working with a small amount of tools due to my truck being broke into.

    What Codosa said. Also, a set of tools is good for other projects, or if you need to help out a friend with their car. You always ave more when you buy a wrench or socket set over buying them individually.

    Most of my tools got stolen about a month ago so I was working with the bare minimum of tools. Luckily I still had a 200pc socket set and had to buy a set of flair nut wrenches. I think 9mm-14mm. I had to Uber to the parts store so I just wanted to make sure I had all the tools I needed while I was out. This is my first big repair on it so don’t mind buying tools I’ll need in the future. It was pretty easy other than the slave cylinder nut was rusted and stuck. Broke free with a lil lube. Thanks again for your help everyone!

    Drag city on your tools. I can relate- I used to live in the city back in the '70's and early '80's. My brother and I had several sets stolen.

    I can only hope you have better luck then me with your Auto Zone parts maybe they have gotten better.

    I work from my truck and needed it running by Monday. I read in the forums there’s a rebuild kit for the master. Not sure about the slave cylinder..? But am hoping to rebuild it so when the auto zone parts fail I’ve got a backup. Don’t have much faith in them lasting that long. Read horror stories of them failing out of the box.
