    That's interesting I am in 4.7:1 99% of the time and only use 2.28 in conjunction with the 4.7 when I need to go super slow. If I need wheel speed I use 3rd or 4th 4.7:1 and it does the job. This is with a 3.4 and 5.29s. dual 2.28s would suck, at least with a 5spd, if you do any crawling IMO.

    That's a completely different truck. This was almost 20 years ago now, but my buddy was running an 83 22r with a single 4.7. I had an 80 20r with duel 2.28s. Both were 35s and 5.29s with locked rears. When it would rain the clay dirt roads turned into slick snot and he would inevitably slide off the road or get stuck in a rut. I'd say 95% of the time a single 4.7 would work just fine for crawling.
