File under minor irritations, I can't find a windshield sun shade that first my 1st gen (1996 Regular Cab). "Universal" shades don't fit, fall down, sag on one corner, etc. What do you guys recommend?

I bought a sun shade used off someone on another Tacoma forum a very long time ago, like before TW existed. Fits my truck nicely & I've been very happy with it, never had an issue with it & still use it. Never knew who made it & never really cared.

Last year I was curious so I took a picture of the only label on it but always forget to search the phone numbers. Well I just looked & phone numbers match the Heat Shield Store link you posted!

Never occured to me that Heatshield was actually the brand.

    https://www.weathertech.com/sunshade/

The Weathertech custom fitted sunshade material are a more superior. I have the Weathertech sunshade for my Tundra (full window kit) and Heatshield for my Tacoma (full window kit). I like to keep the interior of my vehicles hidden from people when I'm parked. Weathertech doesn't make a full kit for the 1st gen Taco, only a fitted windshield cover.

    https://www.covercraft.com/us/en/product/uvs100-custom-sunscreen.UV
Covercraft also makes a rigid custom sunshade. I have purchased these in the past. They look very nice when parked. The flexible type like the Weathertech/Heatshield does a better job at reflecting the sun tho, I don't buy this type anymore.

Pictured is what a full window kit looks like from Weathertech.

There are some quality shades posted on here no doubt but, the ease of install / removal and Storage is where the one I sell edges ahead. It folds down to a 10" Circle
I should also mention it works without having to remove any dash cameras.

    Just something to think about.

    For 1, 2 & 3 Gen (either Logo'd or Plain silver)

Folds down to a 10" Circle and has an optional storage pouch

I use a shade that seems to be made of reflectix, but I've never seen a brand tag on it. I love it but seems to be almost as old as the truck. Folds like an accordion to the same size as the weathertech one, but def doesn't fit width-wise properly. Still keeps the inside cool on hot summer days :notsure:

I'm using that on my Tacoma and my 5G4R and I love it. So easy to use and does keep the interior fresh in over 100 degree weather.

No problem. We had that two week 110 degree heatwave and those sun shades didn't skip a beat

I've tried all types of shades mentioned in this thread, except the weathertech ones. I currently have the covercraft ones, and they have been the best so far. They're pretty thick, and are basically pieces of insulation with a reflective coating on the outside. The other ones did well with protecting the dashboard and all, but they would let so much of the sun's heat pass right through them. With these, I can actually be inside the turned off car and with the windows cracked, all while the sun is beaming right on the windshield. I say this as someone who sometimes takes naps in their truck during their lunch hour lol

Thanks. Previous owner said factory locker. Colorado truck. I'm a lucky guy.
