So there is a whole lot of pages in this thread. Give me the cliff notes, how much money for the kit and what size shock can I run? Or has it not been finalized yet

Sounds good to me! I'm running factory bumps, which feel rock hard lol, and i threw some foam bump cones on the shafts from King for mine. They can't be doing much, but it's better than nothing.

I wish my rig handled like that... I think my OEM leaf w/ wheeler 3 leaf aal is too much spring, it kicks my rear up, forcing my front down and into the next whoop, drastically limiting my front suspensions ability to stay level like your rig. I'd love to go to a meet where someone with tuning experianex could weigh in on my setup.

I don’t know much about the wheeler pack, but what shock package are you running?

Plenty of room for a hydro bump with this kit

Off the shelf bolt-on Icon coil-overs front and rear. The rear has always been overly stiff since the wheelers pack IMO- on Billy 5125s and a little less so with the Icons. I have a relentless 110lb rear bumper coming in that might help 'ballast' the rear some, but also a front bumper as well. When I haul a couple hundred pounds in the back the truck feels amazing, like a Cadillac. I also still have the Icon pre-configured ride hight up front, so I have a little bit of rake, I want to lift the front end up about 1.5"--- I'm hoping with more weight in the rear + more weight distributed via ride height adjustment + the slight more pre-load of the coils up front = a more balanced rig that rides more flat through whoops like your vid (if anything maybe even gets a bit rear biased). Right now it feels like my rig's rear end hops up and plows my front into the whoop.

Sometimes I wish I went King, the linear valving looks like it inherently adapts well, and it looks to be much easier to rebuild and therefore more casual to take apart and play with shims to tune it.

Just change the valving. Its not right for the rear right now.

Kings are linear but progressive. Your Icons are Digressive. But with some tuning can ride super nice. Any shock can.

Did Icons become easier to rebuild and therefore to tune? Was under the impression they were the hardest/most technical of the 'big three'- for instance drastically reducing compression valving might not be possible when increasing rebound resistance + people keep saying Icon is digressive but its actually a weird half-a-bell curve result with an exception at the very beginning a high resistance at very slow speed (which is appreciated when I'm swerving, but not when I'm going slow over rough roads)-- then the fast reduction in resistance, then the half-bell-curve- like a falling off progressive. Bringing budget into mind, I am waiting for some more wear before doing an all four corner rebuild and intend to do the 'slow speed stack', but that is more for slow speed comfort. When doing that, I'll let my rebuild guy know about the rear issue. I don't trust myself with rebuild+tuning and through advice have been sold on using DC shock services near me - https://www.dcshockservices.com/contact (any other TW'ers use him?)

In the meantime, the bumpers are already bought and paid for, front end is height adjustable, wondering how much can be done with just biasing weight (like the good ole' corner balancing from my compact car days)

No idea Ive never helped with icons.

But Ive been in a retuned mid travel icon truck and it was a hoot. Its doable just find someone that knows them.

Thats reassuring. The DC Shock Services place is really big on Icon, so they know a thing or two about them- will be using them for my rebuild when the time comes. I'm actually having a hard time deciding on doing the slow speed stack or not when that time comes. I drive mostly on the street and it does a great job of body control. But I also hate how rough it can ride at times. 1st world problems- sorry for the thread jack OP.

Send em off to SDHQ, the mid travel icon truck he rode in was mine and I gave SDHQ all the weight info and how I use my truck and they did the rest. It ride very nice.

If your rear is bucking up, I’d honesly recommend softer springs and more compression valving.

My truck settled down a lot when I stiffened the ass end up by about 30%

Warning, photo dump: Also, my bumps and straps are not set up for articulation. They should be, and that is now on the list of things to work on. But they are perfect for straight droop/compression while moving fast.

    EXCELLENT frame clearance
