The part where it tapers down and is welded is ~64.55mm (2.541")
The section after the weld is about the same as the axle diameter ~78.63 (or roughly 3")

Believe this was what you were asking correct?!

Thank you! I have both plates in the axle tab at 3.09" ID. Originally I designed it to span the knecked down area, but now I'm thinking of landing one tab in the knecked area to move bottom of shock a little further inboard for better tire clearance.

Anyone know if a 5-lug 1G axle housing is very similar to the 6-lug?

Here's a pic from will beck's install, they modded the axle tabs, but looks like it could have a little inboard/outboard play.

Ordered some king 2.5” 12” on top of this kit. Curious with your knowledge if you think i’ll need a 63 leaf or if it will fit fine at extension with stock leaf’s w/ limiter straps and bumps.

I'd see what your current leaf packs can do 1st. 64" springs would definitely use 12" shock travel with shock mounted outboard, as long as you aren't limiting your bump travel like 3 or 4"
It's been discussed several times in this thread that 10" shocks inboard do fine for articualtion, but that is because you need less shock for articulation. Plus those people often have their bump travel majorly limited.
I mention that because I figure that is why 1G people think 1G springs only do 10". 2001-2004 springs are 24"/32" which is same 56" overall length as a 2G/3G with which we get 12" shock travel out of

Looking for outboard and frenched frame options for my 1st gen. Deaver h70’s and fox 2.5x16’s on factory width. I was looking at the Barnes frenched in tower but I’m not thinking they’re long enough and for more clearance thinking of notching the frame itself but there’s a lot of obstructions on drivers side

Yeah I’m trying to avoid a full bed cage and with my wheel offset I’m trying to make enough room to allow minimal spacers. I’ve been reading the long travel threads but a lot of them went to tundra axles.

As a designer with knowledge of shock lengths and SUA fitment, you're going to need a very tall tower up through the wheel wells to stuff 16", even worse with LT SUA springs, the whole point of which is bump travel, axle should bump out at bottom of frame rails. H70 springs means you'll be moving every hanger. There has to be better threads more in line with your project

Yes there are better but this one popped up and was current, most are 10yrs old. I have most of the brackets stripped just need the gas tank side which has slowed me down. I have most of the kit needed just trying to find ideas and saw this one with people trying to fit an outboard 2.5 which is what I have. Going with a minimalist bed cage but think I need to add a little clearance in the frame rail as well.

    Package arrived.
    Thanks Eric!
    @ARCHIVE
Just as beefy as i remember. Like the implementation of the variable OD on the shock mounts for the axle.

What are the little wrench looking things for?

Thank you, those are nut "flags" that you tack weld to upper nuts so you don't need a wrench

Thanks all for your support, got 4 kits left of the 1G Taco axle tabs, ready to ship

"14” shocks...I’m at 13” shaft at full droop. And about 5.5” of up at ride height...7” shackles and 4” all pro leaf pack...flexes well and not alot of axle wrap"

Reminder: People who say 1G Tacomas only need 10" shocks mounted inboard are probably only judging that based on articulation alone, because inboard shocks can articulate well, while tending to limit travel when axle is horizontal

I'm looking at this for my 1st gen runner. I haven't found any other upper mounts that will work with outboard shocks. Adding a 67in rear axle while I'm doing this swap so shouldn't need any spacers.

It's hard to get a good idea with the splash guards in the way but I have about 5in from the top of the frame to the body
