Awesome, thanks. My main concern was the rear sitting too high but sounds like it should be fine.

Others will assist in recommending the correct OME spring.

I've never had OME suspension with the exception of their leaf pack.

By the way, once you exceed 2" of lift it's highly recommended you go with an aftermarket UCA.

I have King 2.5s EXT travel CO and Icon UCAs waiting in storage for months now; too lazy to install

I plan on keeping it simple, just want to lift it a few inches and throw some bigger tires under it. I dont plan on adding any heavier bumpers or anything anytime soon.

Ok but the UCA recommendation is to ensure you achieve proper alignment due to the 2.5" lift you're looking to achieve.

Bigger tires means more money, bad alignment means throwing away that money fast.

881 if no weight, the 882 and 883 are recommended if you have winch and bumper. if you still want a higher front you can throw a little spacer, but the coil should get you right at 2"

+1 for OME here. Mines a double cab. I got 881 and OME leafs. I wanted rake and I’m happy with the stance. 508A28F5-04A0-4E14-8478-3D75FE85C32A.jpg1E548337-F9C9-468A-A987-C7A2388086DD.jpg

No added weight up front (for now), I do plan on adding a bolt on receiver to tow a small dirtbike trailer and add a camper shell eventually.
I am looking at the OME complete kit with the 881's and the dakar leaf springs. Anything else I should look into besides UCA's?

hahaha i agree im not a fan of spacers, but it is an option for some people who just want the height.

You will be fine with that assuming the truck doesn’t have extra weight on it. Depending on how much weight (bumpers, winch, topper, tent, etc) your truck has gained or may gain you may want to consider 882’s, an AAL, or a different leaf spring all together.

I feel like I may be a minority here but I’m sure others (I know a few others as well) aren’t in love with the OME leafs for first gens. I even have the AAL in and when I load up my bed for a trip she squats pretty good. With just the topper and tent on it is just about perfect with the AAL, but toss in a fridge, spare parts, tools, and camping gear and the springs are flat or negative arch already. My truck is definitely a little on the fat side but I really hoped for more load carrying capacity out of the OME leafs - my understanding is the Expos are better for the heavier first gens.

I picked up the OME complete suspension kit OME CS018R with 2880 coils in front and no extra leaf in the rear from Wheelers OR back in November of 17. Really straight forward install, only thing I was not hip on was (as someone else put it) the stinkbug rake, it did ride pretty stiff from stock but I figured over time and with new front and rear bumpers it would settle down. I ordered the Schrockworks bumpers (Front and Rear) and they are *Oh Shit* heavy since I needed an engine hoist to lift them. I thought this would get the rear down some but it did not work as planned. I did contact OME in regards to decreasing the lift on the rear of the vehicle and they stated I can remove the 3rd leaf from the top and re-install the entire assembly, did this and surprisingly the rear rake did come down by 1.5 inches and the profile of the truck evened out. The ride also improved as well since I no longer feel I am knocking the fillings loose in my teeth. Only other thing I regretted was not greasing the leafs upon re-assembly and after a couple of weeks the rear sounded like cheap bed springs at the No Tell Motel. Eventually got that sorted out too.

Ah yes, the OME packs love to squeak when they get some dirt in them. Perfect description

265 75 r16. Thank you, sir. This truck has been a lot of hard work since it had a drop bracket lift when I bought it( before I knew the first thing about trucks.) somewhere down the line I’d like to get steelies and 265 70 r16 but for now these tires are too new to replace considering the money I’ve sunk into this pit lol.

OME is a good set of springs, at a good entry level price. Are there better springs available, of course. Depending on how fat your wallet is. You can throw money down that well all day.

I went with 883 upfront with Bilstein 5100 set to zero,(ARB front bumper- Warn in the future) forward and their expedition pack with the ARB add a leaf and Bilstein 5125s aft, plywood platform and a topper.

I occasionally pull a trailer as well. Laden weight between 2k up to 4K.

I carry a fair bit of weight usually between 300-700# and my commute is an 85 mile gravel road- a well maintained road -school bus worthy. So far the rear has been very adequate, besides squatting some with loads and a trailer, the front is stiff yet not excessively so- it will be better when I get some more weight-winch & front skid installed.

I may end up adding an Icon progressive AAL pack in a year or so. But I have about 30-40k on things so far and it works pretty good. I hope to be ordering a Drifter next fall, and then run it for a bit with the Icon/OME combo till I decide what the best route forward is with the new topper and gear load out.

So long story short, the OME kit should work very well for you depending on use, and is a good base to work from. Good luck

Well I ended up getting the full OME kit, wheelers has a decent sale going/no tax. They even gave me an additional 5 percent off for being a member of TW so I couldnt pass it up.
