Yessir - doing the 5 speed and 4wd swap. Using a 4runner transfer case w/ the auto 4x4 (non J case) and the auto disconnecting front diff.

Ordered all the parts new out of Japan for the clutch pedal - because I didn't want to pay eBay prices. But have to assemble it - no biggie.:)

Figure I'll try to be a hero here and offset some of your $2500 donor vehicle costs...

... do you by chance have two of these switch blanks available? lol

Not much going on - finally getting some coats of primer on. But gotta say this EZ Turn Engine stand was well worth the premium ($309 shipped)

Trying to get the block painted when it's not too cold and not too humid has been a challenge but we are slowly getting there!

Found some time this weekend to make some progress.

    -color coat on the block.
-oil pan sanded, primed and painted.
    -water pump installed
    -oil pump installed
    -oil pan installed.

Also swapping all the nicer hardware from the 82k mile engine, throwing it in the heated ultrasonic and slowly making my way towards the finish line.

Starting with the driver's side head - got the gasket surface cleaned up. Set in place on the engine. Waiting on a torque angle gauge to get it installed and torqued down.
    Slow and steady progress....

Will be using the valve covers off the 82k mile motor. The dirt and oxidation was driving me nuts so hit it with a wire brush and dremel. Haven't decided if I want to paint or not. Picked up some Aluminum Cast coat engine paint - so I may hit them with a few coats.

Hit the lower radiator outlet pipe too while at, just because :)

There is no conceivable way I would get to the end of this thing and not have a fistful of bolts left over.

Test run on the water inlet tube - Zinc Chromate etching primer followed up with Aluminum Cast Coat paint. Baking in the toaster oven. Will have to do the bigger stuff, in the house, when the wife is at work!!!

I was stubborn and refused to buy a used clutch pedal assembly off of eBay so I bought all the bits and pieces new and assembled one. :)

Now that is dedication. The amount of work you have put into this is impressive.

the real question is if you are going to bother getting a clutch start cancel switch and wiring in all the clutch sensors

My boy Nathan (7 1/2) had an off day today - so we explored the Dayton Aviation Heritage Trail park; museum and also one of the original Wright Brother's bicycle shops, at some food and then dad came home and wrenched a bit. Got one cylinder head on. These torque to yield cylinder bolts make me nervous. Torque to 25 ft lbs and then another 180 degrees. Did get to play with a new toy though!. I think I get nervous since last time I did anything with a head I had some stripped head bolts and had to helicoil the block. That was on my 1915 Ford though with unknown miles and 93 years on it when it happened in 2008!
