Hello! I’m new to this forum but have been using it for valuable information through the months. I have a first gen 2001 Sr5 prerunner with 150k on it, all stock, and am looking for upgrades for the interior and exterior to give it a mean look. I am welcome to criticisms or compliments And want to know your guys thoughts. I am the second owner and bought it for 4,500 from a lady who used it for grocery getting while her Prius was in the shop and was given to her by her husband who worked at Toyota. It was stored In a garage in Arizona for most of its life until making its way to Utah where it sat with the lady for a good while. I recently made the trek to California from Utah and the car drove beautifully. There’s no rust or chips besides regular road debris and exauhst rust. Looking forward to hearing from you guys

Being 2wd if it were me, I’d lower it, and get some wheels. Tint the windows. Take off the steps. And go from there!

Thank you I’m glad everyone’s so friendly on here. I think I want to keep the lift because I can see better but definitely looking to tint my windows, Cali has some strict laws but my friends have had theirs done with little problem from the police

Please edit the title of the thread.... we keep "help" kinda reserved for stuck, broken down and stranded folks.
Got to the top of the thread and look for "thread tools" and click. Then click on edit title.

@dgray925 I glued on the toyota emblem while installing the grille and the Trd was drilled on the next day (The grill slots were thin).

My truck is mostly stock... I'm not much of a bling fan, I like functional stuff... besides
refreshing all the steering and suspension hardware and bushings and stuff (your truck
might not need that at all) I got King shocks and Deaver leafs... the rear shocks had to
be special ordered since the Deavers add lift... my truck drives GREAT :) ... I also got
some 2018 Tacoma wheels and tires from a take-off that had 20 miles on them, they
were from a SR5 and the tires are kind of street-oriented... your wheels and tires look
to be in great shape as is...

    4 run, 2 don't
    @dgray925 Welcome to TW

First thing I'd do is take care of any undocumented maintenance IE LBJ's, tie rods, fluids, etc.

After that, if it were my truck, I'd convert it into a 4x4 and turn it into a little crawler.

Hello, being 2wd I don’t normally tow in fact on my tacoma I almost would not like to tow anything I would get a beater f150 or something but yes some tacomas come with a tow package I would not advise to use the bumper hitch it’s not that strong

4 cyl, right? Be sure to perform regular maintenance and that ride will last you for many years to come.

Exterior wise, I'd remove the step bars and upgrade your tires to BFG ATAs next time you need tires. Say what you will about BFGs - the tread pattern is aggressive and will look great on your truck.

No reason you couldn't tow with your PreRunner. Be sure to slap a trans cooler on and you'll be fine. Also, don't let anyone tell you your truck isn't capable... Enjoy!

Thanks man! That makes me feel better about the cabability and yes it’s a 2.7l in-line 4 and by regular maitenece what do you mean by that? I just got my transmission and oil changed about 2 weeks ago, and have been wanting to know what else to keep up on so it runs smooth and yea bfg’s get a lot of back and forth criticism but I was thinking either a pair of ko2s or something similar and well known. I also don’t want to tow anything unless I desperately need to just to keep everything stress free and mint
