1st gen Tacoma vs 3rd gen 4runner

I have an ‘03 ext cab with a camper. I have a 6’ bed and sleep comfortably while camping/overlanding. If you go with a Tacoma and get a double cab than you’ll have a 5’ bed. It’s mostly just me and every now and again a passenger so the ext cab made sense to me. I’m not married with no kiddos so no need for 4 seats, I’m considering a 3rd gen as a 2nd vehicle due to being able to put the rear seats down and sleep in the back. I’m basically trapped in my camper shell if some fruit loop wants to try and take me out. A gun isn’t really an option for protection in a vehicle unless you have ear protection. (You’ll blow out your ear drums) In a 4Runner you can just jump in the drivers seat and take off....these are things I often think about when I’m sleeping in my camper on blm land.
